BREAKING NEWS: Robbers Attack Villages in Zamfara, Kill 27.

Twenty seven persons, including a policeman were killed by armed robbers in the early hours of Monday in Dangulbi Village in the Dansadau Emirate of Zamfara.

An eye-witness, Alhaji Lawalli Dangulbi, who spoke to newsmen at the Gusau Specialist Hospital, said there was pandemonium in the village when the robbers struck.
He said the assailants shot sporadically, killing 18 persons instantly.

An Ogun State High Court, Monday, adjourned till Wednesday, 13 June, proceeding in the N2 billion suit instituted against Bishop David Oyedepo by Lagos lawyer, Mr. Robert Igbinedion over the alleged slapping of a female member of his congregation.

The adjournment was sequel to a letter sent to the court by Oyedepo’s lawyer, Mr. Dele Adesina (SAN), saying he is unable to attend the proceeding because of a matter he is handling before the Supreme Court.
He apologised to the court over the development and requested for an adjournment to Wednesday this week.

Governor Babangida Aliyu

The Niger State Government says it has uncovered 7,000 ghost workers in the payroll of the 25 Local Governments Councils in the state. The government said that the ghost workers were discovered by a consultant it engaged to conduct staff verification in the councils.

Alhaji Adamu Garafini, the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, announced made the disclosure at a news conference on Monday in Minna.
He said that out of the figure, preliminary reports showed that 3,394 were fake Local Government staff while the rest were teachers in primary schools in the state.

Nigeria and Udinese midfielder Christian Obodo is relieved finally to reunite with his family and friends after his kidnapping, but exclusively tells KickOffNigeria.com that it was an 'inside job'.

Obodo was kidnapped on Saturday morning on his way to church at Effurun, near Warri, but rescued on Sunday night around Isoko, on the outskirts of the town.

He spoke exclusively to KickOffNigeria.com for the first time of the entire experience.

Gordon West

Gordon West, the former Everton and England goalkeeper, has died at the age of 69 after a long illness. West spent 11 years at Goodison Park, making more than 400 appearances and winning two league titles in 1963 and 1970, as well as the FA Cup in 1966.

Everton paid £27,000 to sign West from Blackpool, then a British record transfer fee for a goalkeeper.

He won three caps for England and was part of the squad that came third at the 1968 European Championship.

Farouk Lawan, the chairman of the House of Representative ad-hoc committee on fuel subsidy, yesterday debunked allegations that he demanded and received bribe from an oil company involved in the fuel subsidy scam. He said the allegations was an attempt to stop the implementation of the report of the just concluded investigation. Well, now the CEO of the oil company involved, Mr Femi Otedola of Zenon Oil, has come out to say he actually did give Lawan $620, 000, which was part payment of the $3million the Federal lawmaker had demanded from him to exonerate Zenon Oil.

Director-General, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Mr Femi Ajayi, weekend, said over 6,000 Nigerians were serving various jail terms across the globe for drug related offences.
Ajayi told the Abike Dabiri-Erewa-led House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Matters in Abuja that Nigeria had more of its nationals in prisons outside the country than any other African country.

My attention has been drawn to several newspapers and internet stories alleging that a prominent member of the House Adhoc Committee on Petroleum subsidy demanded and received the sum of $600,000.00 as bribe from an oil marketer.
I wish to categorically deny that I or any member of the committee demanded and received any bribe from anybody in connection with the fuel subsidy probe and I believe this is evident from the thorough and in depth manner the investigation was carried out and the all-encompassing recommendations produced therefrom as approved by the whole House.

BREAKING: Police Rescue Christian Obodo, Arrest Kidnappers

Fresh reports reaching us now indicates that the Super Eagles Player, Christian Obodo was this evening rescued by men of the Nigerian police force. It can be recalled that the footballer was kidnapped yesterday morning in Warri.

Bomb Blast In Jos Church

A massive bomb blast has ripped through St Agnes church on Rukuba road in Jos city, the capital of Plateau state.
A suicide bomber drove straight to the altar of the church before exploding its bomb rigged car killing at least four people.
St Agnes church is adjacent to various churches and a few minutes away from one of Maxwell Khobe barracks, on of the largest army barracks in the city.

Federico Fernandez and Messi score for the Albiceleste side. At the 85th minute, Messi was just unstoppable skipping past the Brazil back line before giving Rafael no chance in goal with his long-range effort.
It was a great friendly match.

It was a surprise when I heard that both D'banj and higly controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh, are both celebrating their birthday today. D'banj is 32 years old while Tonto is 27 years old.

But another comedian, basorge Tariah, is also celebrating his b-day today.

The match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Flames of Malawi ended is a 1-1 draw in Blantyre on Saturday in a second round qualifier for the 2014 World Cup.
