Jim Iyke Strikes Mega Gambia's Money Spinning Deal

Controversial actor, James Ikechukwu Asomugba but better known as Jim Iyke has signed a mega deal in the Gambia.

The deal, source gathered, is worth several millions of naira. We also learnt that he struck a partnership deal with an investment company in the Gambia. The partnership gave birth to a film production firm named 'Musketeers Production'.

Igbenedion Cult-Militant Clash: Atleast 2 Students Killed

At least two students of the Igbinedion University in Okada, Edo State, were reportedly beheaded today when former militants who are also students, clashed with other students believed to be cult members. Several people were also injured.

The incident, which started at about 7a.m continued into the afternoon, with properties worth millions of Naira destroyed in the process.

BREAKING NEWS: Germany and Portugal Qualify for Quarter-finals of Euro 2012

Germany and Portugal have qualified for the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 after a dramatic finale to Group B.

Lars Bender scored a late winner after Lukas Podolski and Michael Krohn-Dehli had exchanged first-half goals as Germany secured a 2-1 win over Denmark to advance as group winners, while in the other fixture, Cristiano Ronaldo's double condemned the Netherlands to a 2-1 defeat after they had opened the scoring through Rafael van der Vaart.

The loss was the Oranje's third at the tournament and they are eliminated along with Denmark.

As a Real Madrid fan, Am happy to see Portugal qualify and even more happier that it was Christiano Ronaldo who scored the 2 goals.

KADUNA: "Shoot At Sight" Order Given To Law Enforcement Officers

 As the death toll from today’s sectarian violence in Kaduna State continues to climb, law enforcement officers have been given orders to shoot any perpetrators of violence at sight.

Two senior police sources in Kaduna told SaharaReporters that more than 50 people have lost their lives in a spate of attacks and counter attacks by Muslims and Christians precipitated by bomb attacks at several churches in Kaduna and Zaria.

President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed sadness over the multiple explosions that rocked churches in Kaduna and Zaria on Sunday.

Jonathan expressed his sadness in Abuja at a special service to commemorate the 2012 Fathers Day.

Igbinedion students: "The Ex-Militants Say They’re Coming Back".

Earlier today, news broke out that ex-militants invaded Igbinedion University, Okada, as early as 5am. They destroyed cars and attacked people with matchets. Several of the male students were injured and they also blocked the main gate of the school so no one could come in or go out.

The cause of the attack hasn’t been established yet, but eventually they left the school premises. However, it does appear as if they are going to reinforce.

Rodney King is DEAD: Found Dead In Swimming Pool

Rodney King, whose videotaped beating by police in 1991 sparked the L.A. riots, was found dead at his California home on Sunday. He was 47.

Police said King's fiancée discovered him at the bottom of the swimming pool at their Rialto, Calif., home, about 55 miles east of Los Angeles.
Police responded to a call at 5:25 a.m., pulled King out of the pool and attempted CPR, but could not revive him.

Breaking News: Kaduna Confirmed Death Toll now 34, ...156 wounded

Number of deaths has risen to 34. These figures are from the three main hospitals where victims were taken to and does not include those taken to other private hospitals.

In addition, about 11 others have been killed in reprisal attacks across the town.

The old man was sighted at the Delta state police headquarters this evening giving a statement to the police about his ordeal.

BREAKING NEWS: Suicide Bombers Attack Churches in Zaria

Explosions hit two churches in Zaria Sunday, in the latest violence in the region, emergency services and residents said.

It was not immediately clear if there were any casualities, but residents said they feared many people had been killed.

The state-run National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said the blasts happened in the Wusasa and Sabon-Gari districts of Zaria, previously targeted by the Islamist group Boko Haram.

RECORD: China Sends First Woman Astronaut into Space

Beijing – (AFP) – China on Saturday launched its most ambitious space mission to date, sending its first female astronaut into orbit and bidding to achieve the country’s first manual space docking.
Shenzhou-9 — China’s fourth manned space mission — blasted off on schedule at 6:37 pm (1037 GMT) from the remote Gobi desert in the nation’s northwest, state television pictures showed.
Chang Wanquan, commander-in-chief of China’s manned space programme, said the craft had entered orbit, and declared the launch a “complete success”.

The crew was headed by Jing Haipeng, a veteran astronaut who had gone to space twice already. Liu Wang, who has been in the space programme for 14 years, will be in charge of manual docking manoeuvres.

Child Trafficking: A Pastor and 4 Other People Arrested

A Pastor (names with held) and four others have been apprehended for questioning by the Benue State Police Command for child trafficking.  Sources gathered from a reliable police source that three of the suspects were arrested in Kano while two others were nabbed in Makurdi.

According to our source, 19 year old Aladi Abbah who resides at Ugbokolo in Okpokwu local government area of Benue State, was few days ago allegedly persuaded by her female neighbour (name withheld) to sell off her 8 month- old baby in order to raise funds to better her lot.

A middle aged young man, suspected to be a member of a gang whose stock in trade is to vandalize installations of Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, has been electrocuted.

Saturday Vanguard investigations revealed that the late PHCN vandal, whose identity could not be ascertained at press time was electrocuted when he tried to vandalize the facilities at the Industrial Cluster, Naze, Owerri North local council area of Imo State.
