The rape of a five-year-old girl is generating the interest of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Muhammed Bello Adoke (SAN), who on Wednesday applied to a Wuse Magistrate Court to take charge of its prosecution from the Police.
Canadian born Eliana Melekwe was allegedly raped at Bolingo Hotel by a certain Godwin Okon, a cleaner in the hotel.

The High Court in Ogun State sitting in Ota, Wednesday, fixed July 12 for judgment in the suit involving the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide and the young lady who was slapped during a church service in 2009.

Robert Igbinedion, a Lagos based lawyer who filed the suit on behalf of the young lady, is seeking the court to award N2billion as 'general and exemplary damages' against the flamboyant pastor among other reliefs.

It is reported that US music acts – pop singer Chris Brown and rapper Drake got into a fight at the popular ‘after hours’ night club WIP, allegedly over Chris’ ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
It is believed that Chris Brown and Drake have had a ‘difficult’ relationship for the past three years over Rihanna. The Bajan pop singer is said to have allegedly cheated on Chris with Drake and the former has kept a grudge ever since.

At the club, Chris Brown allegedly sent a bottle of champagne to Drake’s table as a peace offering; but Drake reportedly sent the bottle back to Brown with a note referring to Rihanna: ‘I’m f*ckng the love of your life [Rihanna], deal with it’.

Samklef Was Not Allowed To Enter UK, Deported From Heathrow

Music producer/artiste, Samklef’s manager has denied that the artiste, who was recently denied entry upon arrival in England, and subsequently deported, traveled to the U.K on a false claim.
The story, published recently in Encomium Weekly, alleged that the father of one said he’d lied to immigration officers about his reasons for travelling to the U.K, saying most Nigerian artistes do it.

Gunmen Kill $ Policemen in Borno, Taraba States

GUNMEN on Tuesday evening ambushed a six-man police patrol team on the Maiduguri-Bama Road and killed three of them. They injured three others, including the driver of the vehicle. The incident occurred at 5 p.m.
An eyewitness said that the gunmen ambushed the policemen, who were in a Golf Volkswagen vehicle near the Dalori Quarters.
He said: “When the gunmen opened fire on the patrol vehicle, the driver moved on, swerving on the road to dodge the gunshots. It was in the course of attempting to escape from the scene that two of the policemen were shot dead.”

The baby, Emmanuel Chimaobi Adinna Okoro, who was born on 9th August 2010, was allegedly stolen from his parents who reside at Awada-Obosi, a suburb of Onitsha in Anambra State by a lady who pretended to be his aunt.

Education: S-East Govs Storm Abuja, say FG Neglect Zone

ABUJA – GOVERNORS from the South East zone yesterday stormed the Ministry of Education to complain over lack of access to education by people of the region even as the Federal Government promised to launch a campaign on access to education in Enugu next week.
Led by Peter Obi of Anambra State and accompanied by Sullivan Chime of Enugu, Martins Elechi of Ebonyi, the governors said they had come to discuss on how best the people of the zone could have unhindered access to education.

Jos Crises: Unknown Gunmen Kill 3 In Jos

Unknown gunmen opened fire and killed three persons this afternoon in Jos, Plateau State . The attack happened around Bukuru Expressway when the men opened fire from an unknown location and immediately fled.
The Plateau State Police command's Public Relations Officer DSP Abu Emmanuel confirmed the attack. He said the corpses of the victims have been deposited in the mortuary.
