It started as a squabble between two ladies. One was the landlord’s daughter, the other a tenant’s little sister. In time, it graduated to a brawl. People, including the landlord, came to separate them. And there was peace – or so the people thought. Just when everyone was just settling down with what he or she was doing, there was a fresh commotion.

The two ladies(Happiness and Rhoda) had gone back at each other. This time viciously. By the time it all ended, one of the ladies lay dead. It was the landlord’s daughter, named Rhoda. It was said that her alleged assailant, the tenant’s little sister named Happiness, stabbed her in the chest. Her dead body is now in a morgue in the Isolo area of Lagos.

Nigeria’s remaining Big Brother Africa(BBA) rep Goldie wants to quit the game even after her interesting performance in the house so far.

Apparently, the Nigerian lass wants to quit because she feels that she betrayed a few people in the house especially Keitta whom she replaced recently during her swap session.

Goldie and Prezzo, Hugging Each Other

The Big Brother Africa Stargame took a new turn yesterday morning as Nigerian Goldie and her Kenyan love interest, Prezzo sang love songs to each other.
The pair had drifted apart following a disagreement which had caused Goldie to be moody for some time.

However, after Goldie was appointed the Head of House (HOH), they both got back to together talking about love.
At the last nominations for eviction, Goldie saved Prezzo from leaving the competition by nominating Keitta for eviction with two others.

Yesterday morning, Prezzo joined Goldie at the kitchen and both sang love songs to each other. Though some Nigerians are not happy with the relationship between her and Prezzo, it seems it is getting stronger.

Goldie is behaving too childish. How did we got her to represent us sef?

THE Arewa elders, youths and Northern Civil Society Coalition yesterday applauded President Jonathan’s sack of erstwhile National Security Adviser (NSA), retired General Andrew Owoye Azazi and the Minister of Defence, Dr. Mohammed Haliru Bello.

They said that the Federal Government’s decision “heralds a new path to genuine fight against the state of insecurity in the country.”
But sources noted that in appointing Col. Sambo Dasuki as new National Security Adviser, Jonathan might have tactfully put the search for a solution to the Boko Haram menace on the laps of northern leaders.

Cult Clash

AT least six persons were feared dead in a clash between two cult groups in Cross River State just as the officers and men of the 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Calabar have arrested over 93 people suspected to be cult members terrorizing Calabar.

Property worth several millions of Naira belonging to traders around Nelson Mandela, Goldie, Bassey Duke, Bedwell Streets and the Watt markets were said to have been destroyed by the suspected cultists.

NO fewer than seven persons, three police men and four suspected armed robbers, were feared dead during a gun battle on Friday night at Okija, Anambra State along the Onitsha – Owerri expressway.

It was gathered that the robbers, who dressed in camouflagged army uniforms and were driving in a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), had double-crossed the police patrol team, made up of members of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Special Task Force on Heinous Crimes for Zone C, and opened fire. In the ensuing gun battle, seven persons died, three on the side of the police and four on the side of the robbers.One police man was also injured.

Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad, the militant Islamic group widely known as Boko Haram said today it was not involved in yesterday’s attempt to bomb a mosque in Fage Local Government area of Kano State.

In a statement obtained by my source, Boko Haram spokesperson Abul Qaqa described the story as a ruse and mischief by the State Security Service (SSS) which they accused of being behind the plan.

Four suspected mosque bombers were this afternoon arrested in Kano State, half an hour after they were supposed to have set-off a bomb in a mosque in FageLocal Government. Their bombs, which were concealed in a polythene bag, were defused.

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that the suspects are in its custody. A source gave the names of the men to SaharaReporters as: MohammedSaidu Lawan, Salisu Adamu, Saminu Haruna, andAbdullahi Mohammed.

Woman Inserts 66 Wrapps of Narcotic Into Her Private Part, Arrested By NDLEA

Law enforcement agents and travellers were last week astonished when 66 wraps of narcotics, which tested positive to methamphetamine, were discovered in the private part of Mande Bala, 48, at the screening section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on June 15, 2012.

The lady was promptly arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency shortly before she was due to board a Kenyan Airways flight to Nairobi.

A group of professionals in the Ondo State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria on Friday rejected the choice of Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The group, known as the Sunshine Liberation Front, condemned the process that produced Akeredolu as the candidate of the ACN in Ondo, adding that he was imposed on the party from Lagos State.

A bomb exploded at the popular Crystal Lounge in the Wuse II district of Abuja.

According to eyewitnesses, a man entered a crowded food court, planted the bomb and then ran away.

Casualties have been reported and five cars were destroyed in the attack.

Just last month, Ezekiel Stoddard , 11, of Temple Hills, Md., was ordained as a minister in his family's Independent Pentecostal Church, where his parents are also pastors.

Stoddard said he was motivated to become a minister after God spoke to him in a dream and told him to read Psalm 23.

"God gave me that particular scripture because a lot of people, they try to draw you away from the lord, trying to get you on the wrong path," he said.

Late Habib Bama

Habibu Bama, a cell leader for Boko Haram and the suspected mastermind of the Christmas Day bloody attack on Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Madalla, Niger State is dead.

Mr. Bama, who was arrested Thursday in Damaturu, Yobe State as he attempted to grab a gun from a soldier, died early this morning from gunshot wounds he received from agents of the Joint Task Force battling the extremist Islamist sect.

More than 42 worshipers and bystanders died in the Christmas Day attack, one of the most vicious launched by Boko Haram.

Offices have been evacuated over fears that a deadly explosive had been planted in a location in the city centre

The Wuse Zone 5 area of Abuja is in chaos, as organizations scramble to evacuate staff, after information spread of a perceived bomb in the area.

The explosive device is believed to be planted between Top View Hotel and the headquarters of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps office in the area.

The area also has the headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party, banks, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

A witness, who works with FIRS told a reliable source that the entire area has been evacuated and the police anti-bomb squad alerted. He said heavy traffic has built up in the area, movement restricted to one lane.

“We are waiting for the anti bomb squad to either detonate it or declare the area safe,” the witness said.

The Senate yesterday indicated its intention to support the request for the creation of Edu State in the forthcoming constitution review exercise.

Edu is required by various groups from the present Niger, Kogi and Kwara states.

Senate President David Mark said this in Abuja while receiving an updated memorandum from the leader of a delegation from the three states, Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.

Mark was represented by Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba. Former Minister of Information and National Orientation Prof. Jerry Gana said the proposed state is a prospective oil-producing state which also has variety of solid minerals.

Despite the all the effort of the Federal Government to redeemed the badly smashed image of Nigerians across the sea, a 26-year-old Nigerian man, Nathaniel Udama Edu, is being held by the Mile 7 Police at Achimota in Accra, for the suspected murder of his girlfriend, Matilda Asante, 19, a senior high school graduate at South Afankor in the early hours of Monday.

The body of the deceased was found in the neighbourhood, wrapped in a bed sheet and her legs tied, while her head was covered in a black polythene bag.

A 27-year-old jealous housewife, Nike Fasoyinu, has been arraigned before an Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, for allegedly pouring hot water on the manhood of her husband, Amos, after suspecting that he was sleeping with other women.

Nike, a mother of two, was arrested after the incident at their residence, 34, Olaolu Omotoso Street, Egan, Lagos State, and charged to court.

She claimed that her husband was always looking outside for sexual satisfaction; so to stop his philandering she decided to pour hot water on his manhood, which left him seriously injured.

Given this statement, the story making the rounds that the current MBGN, Miss Isabella Ayuk was disqualified from participating at the finals of the Miss World beauty contest, holding in Mongolia, China, has been described as ‘ untrue.’

According to the Vice-President, Silverbird Group, Mr Guy Murray-Bruce “the rumour is not only untrue, but also, the handiwork of rumour mongers.”

Former Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on Monitoring of Subsidy Regime, Mr. Farouk Lawan, made a dramatic reappearance at the House on Thursday, the first since the $3m bribery scandal involving him broke out.

Chairman of Zenon Oil, Mr. Femi Otedola, had claimed that he gave $620,000 bribe to the lawmaker to remove his companies from the list of firms indicted by the committee for fuel subsidy fraud.

This show will feature the high and low times of the boxer’s life. Mike Tyson said: “ I’m very vulnerable and I’m just telling you who I am and where I’m from and how this happened.’

Mike Tyson is a great boxer. At young age of 20years, he became the youngest winner ever to receive the heavy weight champion title and since then his life has been faced with so many controversies.

Nigeria rep, Goldie (28 years old) is at it again. On Thursday, June 21, 2012, Goldie laughed and blushed as Ghana’s rep, Keitta said good compliments about her. He said: “ You are a very cool person. You only talk sense, I like that about you. You are very smart.”

But Keitta does not know that Goldie was the one who put him on the eviction list, using him to replace her ‘boyriend’ Prezzo.

Goldie resumed as Head of House on Monday, June 18, 2012, and used the position to save Prezzo.

Meanwhile, the suspense of eviction continues as Barbz Manetta and Keitta depend on fan vote to continue in the TV show.

X-Factor TV Show: Nicole Scherzinger Replaces Former Destiny Child Singer, Kelly Rowland

Ex-Pussycat doll singer Nicole Scherzinger is the newest judge on the reality show X-Factor UK.

The singer will replace former Destiny’s child singer Kelly Rowland, who was a judge last season. Kelly bowed of the X-Factor gig in April, citing scheduling conflicts, and has since been on the move, receiving numerous awards for her role on the show, covering the latest issue of Ebony Magazine, and landing a cameo role in Steve Harvey’s “Think Like A Man” Film.

Scherzinger was originally hired as a co-host for the US X-Factor, which debuted in the states last year, but was eventually removed.
