Ego Dumps Questionmark Label

Ego Omalicha formerly known as the first lady of Questionmark Entertainment has decided to take a walk from the label.

Ego who is now officially known as SAFARIE, broke into the scene as Ego and scored back hits with tracks Omalicha.

Omalicha nwa remix and Thinking about you as an artiste signed to Questionmark Entertainment.
She has parted ways with the label and her agreement was terminated following conflicts over her image, brand and style of music. The artiste and label couldn’t agree on her image and creative differences, and after a long while, it was mutually agreed that her contract be terminated.

Star actor and former President of ANTP, Jide Kosoko, and other top movie stars namely, Chinedu Ikedizie a.k.a. Aki, Segun Arinze, Ngozi Nwosu, Tony Akposire, Shola Kosoko, Rachel Oniga, Antar Laniyan and others are currently on location for the shooting of a documentary drama (docu-drama) titled The battle For Life.

The star studded drama series on climatic change advocacy, written by Kosoko, is being sponsored by UNDP, Africa Adaptation programme and supported by the Lagos State Government.

Search For Miss Ambassador For Peace

The search for the next ‘Miss Ambassador For Peace’ has begun,.The event is slated for September.

In a special press briefing with selected media houses, the organisers of Miss Ambassador For Peace Beauty Pageant, Fashion Cabaret and National Peace Award, 2012, have promised that it will not be business as usual.

The project director and publisher of Alphaplus Magazine, Ambassador Kingsley Amafibe told journalists, that the event would be different from the previous ones witnessed by Nigerians. He said this was necessary as Miss Ambassador For Peace is meant to foster peace and unity.

Hollywood A-listers Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are divorcing, bringing an end to a five-year marriage.

The office of celebrity divorce lawyer Jonathan Wolfe confirmed the divorce. "This is a personal and private matter," he said in a statement.
They have a six-year-old daughter, Suri, and Cruise, 49, has two children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

Cruise married Holmes, 33, his third wife, in an Italian castle in November 2006.

Dasuki In Yobe, Vows To End Bombings Before Ramadan

The new national security adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), stated yesterday that President Goodluck Jonathan was committed to ensuring that peace and normalcy is restored in the country, before the Ramadan fast commences.

Speaking when he visited Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, Dasuki added that his visit to the state was to engage with stakeholders and the government with a view to hearing from them on ways of addressing the security problems.

The State Intelligence Bureau, SIB, of the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Police Command, has summoned the Serving Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, for a chat with the state Commissioner of Police, Umaru Manko.

The invitation signed by the officer in charge of the bureau, CSP Usman Ayuba, was dated Tuesday, 26 June, 2012, and the pastor was expected to report on Thursday, 28 June.

70-Year-Old Man, Son Arrested For Killing Professor

A 70-year-old man, Jimoh Ayeni, on Thursday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court for the alleged murder of a professor.
Ayeni of Ose-Egbeda Camp in Emure-Ekiti Local Government Area of Ekiti State was charged along with his 28-year-old son, Haruna Ayeni, for allegedly killing 68-year-old Prof. Clement Ayeni, News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The accused were arraigned on three counts of conspiracy to murder, hitting the victim with a stick on the head and flogging the professor with a cane until he died.

Oshiomhole Survives Assassination Attempt

Governor Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday, survived an assassination attempt when gunmen attacked his motorcade while he was campaigning at Usen town, Ovia South West Local Government Area of the state.
Oshiomhole, who is vying for a second term in office as the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), had visited the traditional ruler of Usen, Oluogbe II, and was on his way back when the attack occurred.
