REVENGE: New Igbo Group Vows To Avenge Killings of Igbos In The North

                         


A new Igbo group, the  Conference of Igbo Youth Organizations, CIYO,  has warned that Ndigbo will  no longer watch in silence while their brothers and sisters are slaughtered like animals  in the northern states in Nigeria.
The group vowed that henceforth, it will be tit for tat. Most of the victims of the ongoing massacre in the North are Christians mostly of the Igbo stock in eastern Nigeria.

Former Argentina World Cup-winning captain, Diego Maradona, has been sacked as coach of United Arab Emirates Club, Al Wasl.
The 51-year-old, who agreed a two-year contract with Al Wasl in May 2011, was dismissed following a meeting of the club’s board yesterday.
“Following a meeting held by the board of directors of Al Wasl Football Company to evaluate the technical staff of Al Wasl under the leadership of Coach Diego Maradona, it was decided to terminate the services of Coach Diego Maradona and his technical staff,” a club statement said.

4 People Arrested Over The Assassination of Oshiomhole’s aide(Olaitan Oyerinde)

Four(4) persons have been arrested by the Edo state Police Command in connection with the murder of Olaitan Oyerinde, Principal Private secretary to the governor of Edo state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. 
Acting Inspector General of Police,  Mohammed Abubakar,  disclosed this on Wednesday in Benin while addressing journalists on the level of preparation of the police ahead of the governorship election holding this weekend. 

Lagos: Resident Doctors Vs Governor Fashola Again?

The health sector in Lagos State may soon witness another strike as the doctors have started complaining that the Lagos State Government arbitrarily deducted from their April salary and withheld May salary.
The doctors accused the state government of adopting measures to stifle members of the Medical Guild rather than addressing the issues on ground.
The state government had through a circular warned that health workers who embarked on strike would have their salary withheld and that it was ready to enforce the rules to the letter.

Three Polytechnic Students Killed in Delta

                                     


Suspected cultists, armed with guns and axes, have invaded Ogwashi-uku in Aniocha south local government area of Delta state, killing no fewer than three students of the polytechnic located at the town within a week. 


A reliable source gathered that two students of the polytechnic were shot death by the suspected cultists on Thursday last week and the latest victim, also a student of the same institution was murdered last Sunday by rival cultists when he was returning from a church service.

Senate Approves Aloma Mukhtar, Nigeria's First Female Chief Justice

The Nigerian senate has confirmed the appointment of of Mariam Aloma Mukhtar as the Chief Justice of Nigeria. By this confirmation, she becomes Nigeria's first female Cghief Justice.

She succeeds Dahiru Mustapher, who will retire on July 15, having reached the mandatory retirement age of 70. A mamdetory valedictory session has been scheduled for the retiring Chief Justice at the Supreme Court on Friday.

She is expected to be in office until November 2014 when she would also retire, after turning 70 years.

Two People Die In Mararaba Rainstorm- Abuja

                                         

Heavy rainstorm accompanied by torrential flood Friday night claimed two lives and submerged many residential houses and shops at Mararaba in Nasarawa State.
Millions of naira property were destroyed by flood caused by the heavy downpour that started at 11 pm.
A witness, Caleb Daniel, said two children from the same family died in the flood.
Our reporter gathered that owners of shops and residential houses beside Kabayi Bridge in the area, suffered terribly.

Man Jailed For Attacking Friend With Cutlass

                                    

                                    


A middle-aged man was last Thursday sentenced to two months imprisonment by a Grade 1 Area Court sitting in Gwagwalada for attacking his friend with a cutlass and inflicting injury on his head.
Peter Ayo, 42, was charged with causing hurt, which is an offence contrary to Section 240 of the Penal Code.
Police prosecutor, Haruna Suleiman, told the court that on July 4 at about 2200 hours, one Victor Iduh, reported to the police that his friend, Peter Ayo of Old Kutunku road Gwagwalada, came to his residence on the same day and inflicted injuries on his head with a cutlass.

PHCN Staff Electrocuted in Kano




A technical staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria had reportedly died on Tuesday after he was electrocuted while working on a high tension electric pole along Hadejia Road in Kano metropolis. 

His colleague who was also affected by the electric shock in was said to have been thrown into coma.

Okorocha Orders Investigation Over Death of 9 family Members





Remember the realy sad story I discussed. well if you missed it read it HERE.


But the good news is that the governor of Imo State, Governor Rochas Okorocha has now order that the mysterious death of the 9 family members be thoroughly investigated.


Okorocha gave the order when he visited the family compound of the Nnadis who died in their sleep on Saturday.
He expressed shock and sadness over the incident and commiserated with the community and members of Nnadi family, saying “My visit to the family compound is to demonstrate the concern of government and good people of the state over the tragedy.”

Katsina Assembly: Deputy Speaker Resigns

                                



The Deputy Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Bello Majenwaiyya (PDP-Charanchi), has resigned.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), Majenwaiyya gave no reason for his decision.

NAN gathered that the lawmakers had advised Majenwaiyya to resign honourably or be impeached. After the assembly had accepted Majenwaiyya’s resignation, Alhaji Sale Magaji representing (PDP-Sandamu) nominated Alhaji Idris Yakubu (PDP-Jibia) as the new Deputy Speaker.

Husband Goes To Prison For The Love He Has For His Wife

                             

                                




A man who stood surety for his run-away wife, Benneth Nnine has been remanded in prison custody by an Apapa Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

Benneth’s wife, Betty was arrested by the police at Layeni division for alleged assault. Her husband stood surety for her with a promise to produce her at the police station 
any time she was needed.

However, sensing that she might be charged to court, betty reportedly took her belongings without the knowledge of her husband and disappeared.

Osun: Police Beef Up Security in Osun Over killing of Businessman

Osun state Police Command have beefed up security in Osogbo, the state capital and its environs following the Sunday killing of a businessman and hotelier in the town, Mr. Rasheed Bolarinwa by armed robbers.  

The Police have also mounted surveillance in all parts of the state capital, with a view to unraveling the circumstances surrounding the death of the late businessman and identifying his killers.  The presence of detectives was noticed at Alekuwodo and Odi-Olowo areas of Osogbo, where the late businessman had some of his property. 

Jos: More Villages Set Ablaze By Gunmen

                                 

Two more villages in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area have been attacked by gunmen who reduced them to rubbles.
The attack was confirmed Tuesday evening by member representing Riyom Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Mr. Daniel Dem who gave the names of the villages as Tse and Shong.
“I can authoritatively confirm to you that as I am talking to you now, the same gunmen from top of the mountains have attacked two more villages.

Man Exhumed Corpse, Charged to Court

                         

A 37-year-old man, Uju Chukwu, on Tuesday appeared before an Umuahia Magistrates’ Court charged with exhuming the corpse of one Apostle Uju Nwaoha.
Chukwu, from Umuiku Oza Aza in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia was arraigned on a four-count charge.
The accused was on Feb. 8, arraigned on a two-count charge on the same matter.
The same court, had in the suit number U/366C/12 granted the accused bail for N50,000 and one surety in like sum who should reside within the jurisdiction of the court.

Ice Energy says the Access Bank Managing Director is not probing own company but one in whose his brother has interest

Abuja-based Ice Energy Petroleum Trading Company Limited on Monday admitted that  Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, the Access Bank Group Managing Director, has a family interest in the company.

It said although the chairman, Special Committee on Subsidy Payment Verification and Reconciliation is not personally on the board of the company, he has a younger relative, who holds three million shares and sits on the board of the firm.

A reliable source  can authoritatively report that the Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati Wal-Jihad sect, meaning “people committed to the propagation of the Prophet's teachings and Jihad”, popularly known as Boko Haram has claimed responsibility of the killings that occurred during the weekend in Plateau State which climaxed with the killing of a serving Senator and a Plateau State House of Assembly.

The sect, according to a source who speaks exclusively to a reliable source on the condition of anonymity carried the attacks.

The source also claimed that the sect debunks all statements credited to National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki of having their contacts and any discussion of sort going on with it on cease fire.

Grief and sorrow enveloped Umuakuru village in Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State yesterday Sunday July 8th following the mysterious death of nine members of a family whose bodies were discovered in their rooms early hours of the day.

The family had buried their 98-year-old mother, Mrs Felicia Njoku on Saturday [July 7] in their country home. The deceased include Mr. Pascal Njoku , his wife Juliana and theirfive children, Ebere (first daughter), Ifunanya (second daughter), Chibueze (son) Jackline (third daughter) and Uchechi (last daughter).

UNBELIEVABLE: Guard Hacks Boss Over Food, Arrested By Police

                                 



A guard from Niger Republic,  Abdulazeez  Haruna, has hacked his employer, Engr. Mrs. Mary Akioye, with a machete, inflicting injuries on her because he claimed his boss failed to serve him his breakfast at about 8 a.m. on the day of the incident.

The 35-year old security guard reportedly attacked his boss at Plot 3176, Elizabeth Olubunmi Street, Prayer Estate, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, residence of his employer.
Mrs. Akioye, 61, collapsed and bled profusely after the attack.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was revived by doctors.
Haruna was later arrested by the police and charged with attempted murder before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court.

8-Man Robbery Gang Arrested By Police

                                  

A robbery gang, which has been allegedly terrorising residents of  Calabar, Cross River State, Southsouth Nigeria, has been arrested by the police.

Members of the 8-man gang were arrested  by men of the Atakpa Police Division located close to the popular Watt Market in Calabar and have been transferred to Diamond Hill, the Cross River State Police Command headquarters for further interrogation.
