Man Hacks Friend To Death Over N500
A young man vent his anger on his friend for refusing to pay him back N500 and used a machete to hack him to death.
The incident happened in Badagry, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
The 25-year old man, Anuoluwapo Samuel, has been arrested and arraigned before Yaba Magistrate’s court for alleged.
The remorseful Samuel who is now in prison custody, was alleged to have used a machete to inflict injury on John’s right hand.
The incident happened at Okoafo Secondary School, Okoafo, in Badagry Local Government Area where they attended a party.
The victim, Imenvbore John, bled profusely and before he was taken to a hospital, he died on the way.

A suicide bomber blew himself up near the Maiduguri Central Mosque in the capital city of Borno State, killing himself and at least five others.
It was gathered that among the dignitaries that were observing Friday prayers at the mosque were Deputy Governor Zannah Mustaphar and the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Kyari. Both men were evacuated alive after the attack. It is not yet clear if any was injured.
Several other people were injured in the attack, and have been taken to nearby hospitals.

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, returned to Kano last night after undergoing a medical check up at a London hospital, putting to rest the rumour being peddled in the state that he had died.
The emir returned to the state around 7 p.m.

The Lagos State Police Command, on Thursday, confirmed that a veteran presenter of Islamic programmes on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Razaq Lawan, popularly known as Gawat, was missing.
Ngozi Braide, spokesperson for the command, said the police would not rush to describe Lawan’s case as that of kidnapping.

Yahoo Is Hacked: Company Reports 400,000 Usernames, Passwords Leaked
Yahoo Inc reported the theft of 400,000 user names and passwords to access its own site as well as those of other companies, saying that hackers had taken advantage of a security vulnerability in its computer systems.
Company spokeswoman Dana Lengkeek did not identify the other companies whose credentials were stolen or say how many of the stolen logins were for Yahoo's sites.
She said the data was included in "an older file."
"We are fixing the vulnerability that led to the disclosure of this data, changing the passwords of the affected Yahoo! users and notifying the companies whose users accounts may have been compromised," she said.

An Abuja Magistrate Court has ordered that a 23-year-old commercial sex worker, Charity Achibong, be remanded in prison for biting off her lovers tongue.
Achibong of Jabi village, Abuja, appeared in court on a one-count charge of causing hurt contrary to section 245 of the Penal code.

OVER 98 persons, including pregnant women, youths and children perished, Thursday morning, on the East-West Road, at Okogbe community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, when a crashed petrol tanker from which they were scooping fuel exploded in flames.
The ill-fated tanker, it was gathered, was trying to avoid a head on collision with a commercial vehicle at about 7am when it lost control and ran into a ditch, falling on its side.
Several other persons sustained various degrees of burn injuries. Sympathizers rushed survivors to hospitals.

Mother of famous pop singing duo P Square, Mrs Josephine Okoye is dead. Mrs Okoye was reportedly flown to India a few months ago after her earlier admission at St Nicholas Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, for an undisclosed illness.
It would be recalled that Mrs Okoye was in support of her sons’ career and was also a huge pillar to their success while she was alive. Her last public appearance at her children’s performance was at the Psquare Invasion concert in August 2011. She was a Christian minister before her death.
Meanwhile, no official confirmation has reached us yet from the family.
So sad. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.
Bishop Oyedepo Wins Court Suit For Slapping A Young Lady
The judge says the application lacks merit as the slapped girl remains a ghost victim.
Justice Ojo of the Ogun State High Court sitting in Ota has struck out the N2billion suit slammed on the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, for slapping a young lady during a church service in 2009.
Robert Igbinedion, a Lagos based lawyer who filed the suit on behalf of the young lady, had asked the court to award N2billion as 'general and exemplary damages' against the flamboyant pastor among other reliefs.
But delivering judgment Thursday morning, Justice Ojo struck out the case, saying the application lacked merit on many grounds. He awarded a N20,000 cost against the applicant.

UNBELIEVABLE: Man Kills Girlfriend Over Handset
I find it hard why someone will kill another person for just over handset!! Well, the story is a very sad one.

A youngman, Lawrence Ufan Ette, has allegedly struck his girlfriend to death with a stone during a fight in the victim’s house over her phone.
The 23-year old girl, Miss Roseline Ijeoma Christopher, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend over her phone which he allegedly stole from her room when he was on a visit.
Miss Dorothy Bassey, the landlady of 13, Academy Street, Calabar, where Ijeoma and her siblings along with their aged mother live, told a reliable source that Ette and Ijeoma had been in a relationship for a while but Ijeoma’s mother told Ette to stop coming to their house because of his bad behaviour towards her daughter.
