|Rotimi Akeredolu ACN Ondo Gov Candidate|
Ahead of the frthcoming Ondo Governorshp election, over 10,000 unemployed youths from Ondo State have submitted their CVs to the governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Rotimi Akeredolu .
This was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Idowu Ajanaku, on Sunday.
Akeredolu had recently promised to create 30,000 jobs in his first 100 days in office, if elected in the governorship election on October 20.

While host country, Great Britain, came Fourth with a total of 62 Medals consisting of 28 Gold, 15 Silver and 19 Bronze Medals.
Our Nigeria came 86th Position. WTH!

The United States beat Spain 107-100 Sunday morning to win their second straight gold medal in Olympic basketball.
It was a very though match as you can see in the final scores.
Spain almost denied USA the Gold medal but Thanks to great effort by LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

Today Nigerians paid tribute to Ex-Super Eagles Midfeilder, Samuel Okwaraji, who died on August 12, 1989 while playing in a World Cup Qualifier Match between Nigeria and Angola at the National Stadium, Lagos.
During the match, Samuel Okwaraji slumped and eventually died when attempts to revive him failed.

Nigeria’s Olympic Basketball team player Al Farouq Aminu was recently approached by US celebrity news website TMZ and asked about his nationality.
Aminu clearly stated he wasn’t a Nigerian and had never stepped foot inside the country. hmmm!
He however divulged that his father is and as such, he has the right to play for Nigeria due to dual nationality.
‘I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia but my dad is Nigerian’, the former LA Clippers player said.

POLICE have arrested four persons, including a driver who conspired with his blood brother to rob the 70-year-old father of his Lebanese employer, Ahamed Zein, owner of AJ Eatery, Warri, Delta State.
Three of the suspects who lodged in a hotel in Warri came from Lagos for the robbery operation.
The gang first struck at the house of Zein, but unknown to them, the Lebanese was yet to return from his trip.
In anger, they stormed the residence of his father, Afif Zein, who also runs a supermarket in the oil city and carted away an undisclosed sum of money.
A female banker, Yinka Johnson, on Friday crushed an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Mr. Hameed Balogun, while driving against the traffic in the Ajah area of the state.
This came three weeks after another official of the agency, Mustapher Adeleke, was crushed by a bus driver, who was driving against traffic.
The incident was recorded a week after the Governor Babatunde Fashola signed the new traffic law.

A tricycle rider was on Wednesday killed by a hit-and-run driver at Nung Oku area of Aka-Nung Udoe Road, Akwa Ibom State.
It was learnt that the tricyclist dropped his last passenger about 9pm and was heading for Uyo when a Toyota Camry hit his tricycle.
An eyewitness, Mr. Joe Edet, said the driver of the Toyota car, who was on speed, wanted to overtake another vehicle when his car veered and hit the tricycle.
Another eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, said the tricyclist just bought the tricycle a few months ago.
The police in Ebonyi State have arrested a 22-year-old man, Udoka Onwe, for allegedly killing his 60-year-old father, Mr. Peter Onwe, and uncle, Mr. James Elum, 52, in Umuogodo-Akpu Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.
Our correspondent gathered that upon interrogation by the police, Onwe , who is the founder and pastor at Christ Rimites Church, confessed to killing his father and uncle on the suspicion that they were wizards who wanted to use occult means to kill him.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Sylvester Igbo, who confirmed the incident, said the alleged murder was carried out on Thursday, around 5am.

A youth corps member serving with the National Defence College in Abuja, Dr. Pascalina Onuoha, has trained 130 women on how to be financially independent.
Onuoha, an Optometrist, taught the women who are mostly widows, how to make Vaseline in commercial quantity at Kagini, a settlement in the Federal Capital Territory.
She also distributed clothes which she sourced from friends and families to them.
The corps member told Gist Naija that she took the initiative because she was touched by the plight of the women.

Three people lost their lives on Wednesday when a storey building under construction at Dutse-Alhaji in Abuja, collapsed.
The building located on Ademola Awosika Street, behind Winners’ Chapel, fell after a light rain in the morning killing three men and injuring nine others.
The victims were believed to be construction workers.
The wounded men were rushed to Kubwa General Hospital for treatment.
The chapter of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) at Shiroro Hydroelectric Power Station, on Thursday staged a protest against what they termed high-handedness of the Minister of Power, Professor Bart Nnaji, locking the entrance to the power station.
The workers, who blocked the entrance to the dam during the protest, accused the federal government of trying to tactically deny them of their hard earned benefit.
The protesting workers carried placards with various inscriptions such as ‘Pay us our full benefit’ and, ‘PHCN say no to military Minister.’

The Kaduna State Government today lifted the curfew imposed in the state capital and elsewhere soon after a spate of deadly religious violence on June 17, 2012.
In a statement released by Reuben Buhari, a media aide to Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa of Kaduna State, the government cited an “improved security situation witnessed in Kaduna State” as the reason for removing the curfew.
