Jesse Jagz turns 28 today. Jesse Jagz is a rapper.
Jesse Jagz who hails from Jos, Plateau State is the younger brother of popular rapper M.I. Jesse and his elder brother started their careers from the church choir and later teamed up to form a music production company called Rytchus Era Productions.

Jesse and M.I are currently signed to Chocolate City.

Beyonce and Jay Z Named World’s Highest Paid Celebrity Couple

Popular musicians Beyonce and Jay Z have been named the world’s highest paid couple according to Forbes Magazine.

The couple earned the sum $78 million together in the last one year. While Beyonce made $40m from May 2011 to May 2012, Jay Z made $38million, according to data from the latest Celebrity 100 list.

The couple were the runners-up last year on the list of The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples and they have now climbed to top for this year’s ranking.

Beyonce Knowles, took a break from her hectic touring schedule in 2011 to give birth to daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, while her album went platinum in the U.S.

Jay-Z isn’t far behind his wife. The hip-hop mogul made millions from Watch the Throne, his musical collaboration with Kanye West, and even more from the tour that followed.

Ghanaian President is Finally Buried

The body of the late Ghanaian President, Professor John Atta Mills has been interred at the “Asomdwee Park” .
The late President, was laid to rest after a day-long funeral which held at the Independence Square in Accra.

Prof Mills was buried, Friday, in a Bird Sanctuary next to the seat of government, the 17th-century Fort Christiansborg, also known as Osu Castle, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.

His funeral was attended by 16 Heads of State, five Vice Presidents, and other international dignitaries including the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Goodluck Jonathan.

Banker Shot Dead in Maiduguri

Maiduguri, capital of Nigeria’s Borno state continues to cement its status as the killing capital of Nigeria, with the gruesome murder of a 35 year old banker.
Last night, yet-to-be identified gunmen shot dead the 35-year-old banker, Malam Yakubu Abdullahi, as he was breaking his Ramadan fast at Gwange, the Layin Hajiya Maituwon Yasin area of Maiduguri.
Relatives of the deceased told newsmen today in Maiduguri that Abdullahi was killed at about 6.30 p.m. while he was eating in company of two of his friends.

Customer Pours Acid On Prostitute

The Enugu State Police Command on Friday said its officers had commenced an investigation in a bid to know those who bathed a female sex worker with acid in Enugu.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday that the victim, who was bathed with acid on August 7, was recuperating at the Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu.

The September 2012 issue which shows the singer, 26, butt-naked apart from a gigantic pink hat – was supposed to be kept away from the public until the issue hits the newsstands next Tuesday.

But the Poker Face popstar posted the snap today along with the magazine’s cover on her social networking site
The images are said to have been retweeted more than 6,000 times together.

Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Tricycle Rider

A tricycle rider was on Wednesday killed by a hit-and-run driver at Nung Oku area of Aka-Nung Udoe Road, Akwa Ibom State.

It was learnt that the tricyclist dropped his last passenger about 9pm and was heading for Uyo when a Toyota Camry hit his tricycle.

An eyewitness, Mr. Joe Edet, said the driver of the Toyota car, who was on speed, wanted to overtake another vehicle when his car veered and hit the tricycle.
Another eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, said the tricyclist just bought the tricycle a few months ago.

The police in Ebonyi State have arrested a 22-year-old man, Udoka Onwe, for allegedly killing his 60-year-old father, Mr. Peter Onwe, and uncle, Mr. James Elum, 52, in Umuogodo-Akpu Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.
Our correspondent gathered that upon interrogation by the police, Onwe , who is the founder and pastor at Christ Rimites Church, confessed to killing his father and uncle on the suspicion that they were wizards who wanted to use occult means to kill him.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Sylvester Igbo, who confirmed the incident, said the alleged murder was carried out on Thursday, around 5am.

A youth corps member serving with the National Defence College in Abuja, Dr. Pascalina Onuoha, has trained 130 women on how to be financially independent.

Onuoha, an Optometrist, taught the women who are mostly widows, how to make Vaseline in commercial quantity at Kagini, a settlement in the Federal Capital Territory.
She also distributed clothes which she sourced from friends and families to them.
The corps member told Gist Naija that she took the initiative because she was touched by the plight of the women.
