The closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic games is been awesome just like the game itself. It is time to say good bye to visitors and thank those who made the event a glowing success.
Many would not forget the exploits of Usain Bolts and others, just like we would not forget countries like Nigeria, Ghana and the rest who failed to win good medals at the global sporting event. 10,000 Unemployed Youths Submitted Their CVs to Ondo ACN Gov Candidate

Ahead of the frthcoming Ondo Governorshp election, over 10,000 unemployed youths from Ondo State have submitted their CVs to the governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Rotimi Akeredolu .

This was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Idowu Ajanaku, on Sunday.
Akeredolu had recently promised to create 30,000 jobs in his first 100 days in office, if elected in the governorship election on October 20.

Manchester City Defeats Chelsea To Win Community Shield Cup

Manchester City have defeated Chelsea,3-2, to win the Community Shield Cup. 
Torres was the first to score in the first half for Chelsea.

But Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez and Samir Nasri scored three superb goals after the break as City took advantage of space in the Chelsea defence created by the red card shown to Branislav Ivanovic in the 42nd minute for a horrible studs-up challenge on Aleksandar Kolarov.

Remember Manchester City are the current EPL Champions while Chelsea are the current Champions League Winners.

BREAKING NEWS: Boko Haram Attack Damaturu Again

Multilple explosions and gunshots rocked parts of the Yobe State capital, Damaturu, on Sunday as suspected Boko Haram gunmen held the city hostage.

The gunshots and explosions were concentrated around Gashua Road, causing widespread panic.
The sect has staged regular attacks on the city, killing soldiers, policemen and civilians.
The Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Mr Patrick Egbuniwe, on Sunday confirmed that thegunmen engaged security operatives in a shoot-out at the Bindigari area of Damaturu.

London Olympics 2012: US Finished Top, While Nigeria Has Not Won A SIngle Medal


The London 2012 Olympics has come and gone. The US finished top of the Medals Table both in the number of Gold and Overall Medals.

US finished First with a total of 104 Medals which consists of 46 Gold, 29 Silver and 29 Bronze Medals. 
The People's Republic of China came second with a total of 87 Medals which consist of 38 Gold, 27 Silver and 22 Bronze Medals.

Russia came Third with a total of 82 Medals consisting of 24 Gold, 25 Silver and 33 Bronze Medals.
While host country, Great Britain, came Fourth with a total of 62 Medals consisting of 28 Gold, 15 Silver and 19 Bronze Medals.

Our Nigeria  came 86th Position. WTH!
Nigeria has not won a single medal. Na wa ooo! What a disaster to us. We need to do something.

Olympics Basketball 2012: Dream Team USA Wins Gold, Defeats Spain in Final

The United States beat Spain 107-100 Sunday morning to win their second straight gold medal in Olympic basketball.
It was a very though match as you can see in the final scores. 
Spain almost denied USA the Gold medal but Thanks to great effort by LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.
Congrats again to the USA Basketball Team. They are simply the best.

TRIBUTE: Nigerians Remember Late Super Eagles Player, Samuel Okwaraji

Today Nigerians paid tribute to Ex-Super Eagles Midfeilder, Samuel Okwaraji, who died on August 12, 1989 while playing in a World Cup Qualifier Match between Nigeria and Angola at the National Stadium, Lagos.

During the match, Samuel Okwaraji slumped and eventually died when attempts to revive him failed.

IRAN: Twin Earthquakes Kill Atleast 250 People, Injured 2,000 People

Twin earthquakes which occurred in the northwestern Iran has killed atleast 250 people, mostly women and children.
“The number of dead has reached 250 and the number of injured has topped 2,000,” Khalil Saie, the head of the regional natural disasters centre, was quoted as saying by the ISNA 
Iran has always being prone to such disasters due to its location. The deadliest was a 6.6-magnitude quake which struck the southeastern city of Bam in December 2003, killing 31,000 people — about a quarter of the population — and destroying the city’s ancient mud-built citadel.
So sad! God help Iran and May the  Dead Rest in Peace.

Olympic Basketballer Al Farouq Aminu Disowns Nigeria

Apart from not winning a single medal in London Olympics 2012, Nigeria is now hit hard by a recent news that One of our Basketball team player, Al Farouq Aminu, has renounced his nationality.

Nigeria’s Olympic Basketball team player Al Farouq Aminu was recently approached by US celebrity news website TMZ and asked about his nationality.

Aminu clearly stated he wasn’t a Nigerian and had never stepped foot inside the country. hmmm!
He however divulged that his father is and as such, he has the right to play for Nigeria due to dual nationality.
‘I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia but my dad is Nigerian’, the former LA Clippers player said.

Nigerian musician J Martins and actor Jim Iykewere honoured at the Cameroon Entertainment Awards held at the prestigious Cramton Auditorium in Washington DC On July 28, 2012

J Martins received the ‘Pan African People’s Choice award while Jim Iyke was given Pan African Actor of the Year‘. 
Jim Iyke not present to receive his award.

J Martins is currently on tour in the US along with other Nigerian artistes including Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Timi Dakolo and 2face Idibia.
