Former Bus Conductor Scores Highest Marks in OAU Post UTME

Uche Okwuoha once slept under the bridge, roamed the streets as a tout, worked as a bus conductor and wheelbarrow pusher. Today, he has a different story.

After scoring the highest mark in the Obafemi Awolowo University post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in the 2010/2011 academic session (320 out of 400), he sits proud as a Law student in the insbosomution’s Faculty of Law.

An indigene of Imo State, the 27 year-old shared his inspiring story with Punch.
At the time he was leaving his secondary school at Okigwe, Imo State, his intention was to gain admission to any University, join a cult group and kill as many people as he could.

Funmi Lawal, a 2011 UNILAG law graduate who was recently diagnosed with malignant sacorma, a kind of cancer at the shoulder region would at-least have some reason to smile as Mavin Records CEO and prolific music producer, Don Jazzy has donated N2 million to her.

Funmi was in need of N4 million for surgery.

Woman Prevented From Committing Suicide To Face the Firing Squad


This is the dramatic moment that family, friends and rescue service workers desperately try to stop a woman from leaping to her death.
They are forced to cling to Sheng Fi’s legs as she threatens to throw herself off a nine-storey building.
But what they did not know was that she had smothered her four-year-old nephew just hours earlier and thrown his body from the same roof in Southern China.
Sheng had been embroiled in a bitter row with her sister-in-law, the young boy’s mother, and killed the boy as a result of the fight.
She admitted to smothering him to death and throwing his body from the 100ft tall building in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province before attempting to jump after him
The horrific truth behind her suicide attempt was unveiled when she had been brought off the ledge.
A police spokesman told local media. ‘She will still die now, but by a firing squad for murder.

P-Square and May D End Music Relationship


P-Square’s record label, Square Records, released a statement this morning, announcing the end of their business relationship with the only other artist on their label, Mr May D.
Square Records’ first signing, Akinmayokun Awodumila, popularly known as May D was signed by the label some months ago and has released few hit tracks under the label including ‘Ile Ijo’, ‘Soundtrack’, and the remix he did with Akon and P-Square.
According to the statement, the split is due to the irreconcilable differences between the two parties. The Okoyes further wished May D all the best in his career.
Reacting to the statement, May D in a phone conversation with the a reliable source, claimed that he had no idea of what the Okoyes were talking about.
“I don’t know what they are talking about..you know I don’t stay in their house so how am I meant to know this?”
