A YOUNG man in his early twenties, Mr. Junior Egbunike, was, yesterday, confirmed dead following injuries sustained while pursuing his father’s kidnappers at the commercial town of Onitsha.
Mr. Amulunanma Egbunike was returning home with his wife and son simply known as Junior after the day’s business at the weekend in Onitsha and as they got very close to their house at the Onitsha Inland Town, hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers blocked his car and dragged him into their own car and drove off.
The information is included on Scott's death certificate, which was released Monday.
The document doesn't include a formal determination of Scott's cause of death. Coroner's officials expect it will take several weeks to finalize their investigation, but they are treating his case as a probable suicide.

In a tweet where she copied both Wande Coal and his producer, Don Jazzy, KSB wrote: “We don’t want rape cases to increase o. Pls @wandecoal @DONJAZZY stop dis nudity in ur videos b4 God stops you.”
In another message, she tweeted: “U r bringing nudity back to Nigeria videos to increase cases of RAPE in our society. It has stopped. Pls stop it.”
A bomb planted at the West End roundabout in Maiduguri has injured several members of the Joint Task Force in Maiduguri.
According to eye witnesses, the large bomb embedded at the West End roundabout, which was remotely controlled, exploded around 10 am on Tuesday. A second blast was reported at Sabon Layi area in Gwange Ward.
The JTF spokesperson, Lt. Col Musa Sagir, confirmed that there were explosions in the city but said a full briefing will be made to the media as the JTF was still actively patrolling the city to determine those responsible for the attacks.

A 54 year old woman, Oluwabunmi Oluwafemi, in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, has committed suicide.
Over the weekend, the mother of four was declared missing by her family; however, her body was found hanging on a tree beside the popular Gada-Odo/Ona River on Monday.
Ms. Oluwafemi who used to reside in Bembo, Apata area of Ibadan, was said to have gone to spend the weekend with her first child, Opeyemi Oluwafemi, in Olugbode, Odo-Ona area of the town before the calamity.
GistNaija.com gathered that on Friday night, Mr. Oluwafemi attended a church vigil. At the break of dawn, he returned home and found that his mother was missing.
“I return home from vigil and discovered her absence at home, hence, a report of her missing was made known to the police, but three days later after a search party, we discovered her corpse hanging on the tree here,” he said.

Miss Cynthia Osokogu, the victim of an Internet dating transaction, will be buried on Sept. 7 at Bebe, Ovia Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta, the family said.
Cynthia, a postgraduate student of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, was allegedly killed by friends she met on the social media, Facebook, at a hotel in Festac, Lagos in July.
The suspected killers of the young woman allegedly lured her to Lagos on a phoney business deal and killed her in a hotel room.
Mrs Joy Osokogu , who announced the date to journalists in Jos on Monday, advised youths to be very cautious of making friends with people that they did not know.

The Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions on Monday directed the Central Bank of Nigeria to suspend the introduction of N5,000 note until the Senate was properly briefed.
The Chairman of the committee, Senator Bassey Otu (PDP- Cross River) issued the directive while speaking to newsmen in Abuja, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
Otu noted that the re-denomination of the currency required the approval of the National Assembly, warning that the CBN must avoid sending the wrong signals to stakeholders in the economy.
He said it was vital for the CBN to discuss the implications of the currency re-denomination with the Senate before it was implemented.
“ I believe that a project of this nature requires parliamentary approval because there are numerous fiscal implications on the entire economy.
”The CBN must be very careful in order not to send the wrong signal to the domestic sector and external partners that the Nigerian currency is valueless.
