Two Nigerian Youths, Delano, Njoku Make Forbes List Of 10 Young African Millionaires

The two Nigerians, Jason Njoku and Ladi Delano, were named alongside eight others as 10 young African millionaires to watch by influential business magazine, Forbes.

Forbes is an American business magazine, which features original articles on finance, industry, investing, and marketing topics. It also reports on related subjects such as technology, communications, science, and law.

The magazine is well-known for its lists, including its lists of the richest Americans (the Forbes 400), highest-paid stars under 30, and its list of billionaires. The motto of Forbes magazine is “The Capitalist Tool.”

The listed Africans, in their 20s and 30s, the magazine said, have built businesses and amassed million-dollar fortunes.

Delano, aged 30, is Founder and Chief Executive Officcer, Bakrie Delano Africa.

Police Shoot sales Girl Dead, Injure 3 others In Abuja

A 20-year old sales girl identified simply as Lucy, was on Friday shot dead by policemen in the Apo area of Abuja.

The girl was hit in the chest by bullets fired into a photography shop where she worked as a sales girl.

Three other people sustained gunshot injuries when policemen from the FCT Police Command fired bullets indiscriminately in an attempt to enforce the demolition order of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council.

The people of Aluu, Ikwere local government area of Rivers State, have broken their silence seven days after four students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) were killed by an irate mob in their community.

Abeokuta-based oil magnate and owner of Fatgbems Oil, Alhaji Fatai Olamilekan Akanmu Gbemisola, popularly known as Fatgbems, has died early this morning.

Texas- U.S. rapper Nelly was detained last night in Texas after police officers searched his tour bus and found Heroin, large quantity of weed and a loaded gun on his tour bus.

Nelly’s bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, where a police dog detected the presence of drugs on the bus. They found 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over ten pounds of marijuana inside a large green duffed bag, about the size of a large bed pillow, and a loaded .45 caliber pistol.

The murder of Ugo, Lloyd, Tekena and Chidiaka now referred to as ‘Aluu 4’ is still very fresh in our memory and the horror of their terrible last moments something most of us cannot just wish away, it has been revealed why the community unjustifiably took the laws into their hand – a move they will forever regret!

Now, I have heard this particular revelation on a prominent Abuja based FM station but decided to hold on to get additional information to either disprove or uphold their version of the unfortunate incident that happened on the night of Friday, 5th October, 2012.

Having confirmed it to be true until proven otherwise, here’s an account of what happened upto the unfortunate death of the Aluu 4:

An indigene of Aluu was indebted to Ugo and rather than pay up, vowed not to. Ugo who was popularly known as Tipsy, had solicited the help of a well dreaded guy on campus to assist him in recovering his money from his debtor.

This guy, referred henceforth to as ‘Fearless’, was a renowned cultist and accepted to help retrieve the debt owed in exchange for a ‘cut.’

A sister of one of the four University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) students brutally murdered last Friday in Umuokiri village, Aluu, Rivers State, has narrated how her younger brother and his friends were lynched.
Miss Ibisobia Elkanah, elder sister of Tekena Friday Elkanah, revealed yesterday that policemen visited the scene where the students were burnt to death after they were severely injured and that one of the law enforcement agents told the perpetrators of the dastardly act “to burn them alive”

The murdered students, Chiadika Lordson, Ugonna Kelechi Obusor, Mike Lloyd Toku, and Tekena Elkanah, all part two students, were murdered in cold blood over alleged theft of a laptop computer and a blackberry phone.

In what could be termed a show of fairness and justice, Nigeria’s men 4x400m relay team at the Sydney 2000 Olympics have been elevated to the position of gold by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after a member of the United States 4x400m team, Antonio Pettigrew was found guilty of using banned substances during the game.

In light of the foregoing, Nigeria has been given up to November 1, 2012 to return the silver medals in their possession before the process of awarding the gold medals could commence.

The Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday asked Nigerians to be prepared for imminent food shortage.

The party said scarcity of food would be one of the effects of the floods that ravaged some parts of the country recently.

Rising from its National Working Committee in Abuja, the PDP however commended President Goodluck Jonathan for steps taken so far to cushion the effects of the flood on victims.

Popular actor, Nkem Nwoh, has been dragged before the Enugu State Commissioner of Police in a petition signed by a widow, whose land the actor is alleged to have fraudulently acquired.

On September 30, according to the report, Osuofia who bought a disputed land, went to that portion of land with thugs, where a widow had built a house, demolished the entire building.

The land, meanwhile belongs to this widow, who had secured it with her husband before his demise. Somehow, Osuofia got the title documents from God knows where and when it became clear he wrongfully bought the land, he tried to beg the widow, Mrs Gloria Ayogu, to sell but the woman blatantly refused.

When it was evident that the woman wouldn’t bug, Nkem, we gather, persuaded and later started threatening the widow.

President Goodluck Jonathan has proposed a total expenditure of N4.92 trillion for the 2013 fiscal year.

Addressing a joint session of the National Assembly, the president said the budget which is based on fiscal consolidation has the deficit reduced to 2.17% from 2.85% in 2012.

The budget maintained an oil benchmark of $75 per barrel as provided in the Middle Term Expenditure Framework with a reduction in the recurrent expenditure and increase in the capital expenditure.

Uniport Shut Down as Students Protest And Set Omuokiri – Aluu ablaze

13-Year-Old Boy Shoots Grandparents For Calling His Mother A Prostitute

A 13-year-old fatally shot his grandparents in their home because he was upset that they called his mother a whore and "were speaking poorly about her," state police said in charges filed Tuesday.

Zachary James Proper, of Oil City, was charged with criminal homicide for the weekend shootings of Dorothy and George Fross.

According to the criminal complaint by troopers in northwestern Pennsylvania, Proper's parents, Ryan and Karen Kapp, called Oil City police Monday night because they were concerned that their son had gotten drunk and high on Sunday night and had stolen a car belonging to his grandparents.

The Kapps called police because they could not reach the Frosses by phone and because Proper told them that "his friend had shot and killed his grandparents," the complaint said.

70-Years-Old Man Arrested For Defiling 5-Years-Old Girl

Mr Pius Agu, a 70 year old man, has been sentenced to two years in prison for defiling a five-year old girl in Benin, Edo State.

Mr Pius Agu was charged with 2 year imprisonment under the Section 360 of the Criminal Code, for any person who illegally and offensively assault a woman or a girl. He was sentenced with hard labor by the Oredo Magistrate court in Benin.

Shaakira Dorsey(16-Year-Old Girl)

The incidence happened this time in Ohio where a teen was killed on Wednesday by classmate enraged by her alleged teasing.

Witnesses told police that Shaakira Dorsey, 16, had been mocking a friend for farting before she was attacked, beaten to the ground and pummeled again and again.

Miss Dorsey died shortly after the argument, police say, and her unidentified juvenile attacker has been charged with murder. The family said that the teen had no pre-existing medical conditions that would cause shortness of breath.

Shaakira’s step father broke up the fight but that was a little to late as she died almost immediately. May her Soul Rest In Peace, Amen.
