 Sheila, wife of renown education icon in Nigeria, late  Tai Solarin  has passed on at the age of 88 years.

Sheila, a British woman who was the  Proprietress of Mayflower college, Ikenne in Ogun State  died, yesterday at 4 :30 pm  at Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State few months  after she was rushed to the hospital.

When Onyeka Eze stormed God’s Pentecostal Mission aka GPM located in the highly density Iba, a suburb of Lagos penultimate Sunday just like every other worshipers, little did they know that he had an ulterior motive.
Propelled by villainous intent, after the service that night, the congregation dispatched only for Eze, 26, to return at the wee hour of the following morning and attempted to do away with the church’s property.
Nemesis caught up with the lad who hails from eastern part of the country when the noise of his action attracted the senior pastor’s attention. He came out of his office and saw Eze with some undisclosed amount and gas cylinders belonging to the church.

Governor Rochas Okorocha Punches Governor Obi’s Aide Over Seat

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Saturday punched a protocol officer who refused to allow him sit on a chair reserved for the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, at the 80th birthday celebration of former vice president, Chief Alex Ekwueme, in Enugu.

The incident occurred 20 minutes before most of the invited guests arrived.

The Couch was reserved for the host Governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime and Peter Obi. The Deputy Governor, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi, represented Chime who is still out of the country.

The retired footballer whose life is a testimony after his heart stopped for nearly 80 minutes during a match against Tottenham Hotspur in March where he suffered a cardiac arrest grew up in Walthamstow and went to school in Markhouse Road.

Followers are ferried in double-decker shuttle buses to the church, handed slips inviting them to make debit card payments, and are even told obeying the ministry’s teachings will make them immune from illness.

Robbers, Rapists Raid Storm Camps in Delta State too

Barely a fortnight after rapists were said to have raided the Benue State flood camps, armed robbers have reportedly stormed various camps of flood victims in Delta State and robbed and raped some of them.
The camps affected were those at Oleh and Cavegina in Warri Metropolis. Consequently, Delta State government has beefed up security around the various camps to forestall further occurrence. Meanwhile, relief came to the victims at the weekend when Christians and various charitable organizations donated foodstuffs and cash to cushion the hardship they’re facing.

Breaking News: Mimiko Declared Winner of Ondo Election


Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has Sunday, declared Dr Olusegun Mimiko, the Labour Party as the winner of the Ondo State governorship election held yesterday.

INEC declared Mimiko winner 260,199 votes, ACN , 143,512 votes and PDP, 155,961 votes.
The Returning officer Prof Adebiyi Daramola declared Mimiko winner at 1.25pm at INEC’s Collation Centre in Akure.

Obafemi Martins, Nsofor Make List Of World’s 50 Fastest Players As Walcott Takes Top Spot

Levante speedy striker Obafemi Martins has been named alongside Russia-based compatriots Victor Obinna and Ahmed Musa in Bleacher Report’s World Football’s 50 Fastest Players.
The list was drawn from a combination of sprinting ability, acceleration and speed with the ball by the players.
Martins was listed in 35th position, one place ahead of Lokomotiv Moscow forward, Obinna while CSKA Moscow speedster, Musa placed 38th.
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott was first with Dutchman Arjen Robben and Aaron Lennon coming 8th and 9th respectively.
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo emerged in 14th place while Barcelona’s Lionel Messi placed 31st.
Ivoirian Seydou Doumbia (11th) of CSKA Moscow is the first African on the list while Burundian Mohammed Tchite (16), Ghanaian Dominic Oduro (18), Malian Jimmy Kebe (19) and Waris Majeed Abdul complete the African list.

Ondo Election: Mimiko of LP In Early Lead Ahead of ACN and PDP


After months of intense politicking and anxiety, the Ondo State governorship election ended yesterday with Governor Segun Mimiko  of the Labour Party emerging victorious.
The announcement of the results by the Independent National Electoral Commission began at 2:55am today and ended at 4:30am when  the process was discontinued.  One of the INEC officials told the gathering of  electoral officials, party agents and security agents that more declaration of the results would resume at 10am.
As of the time the announcement was stopped, the results from 15 Local Government Areas had been announced. The results clearly showed that  Mimiko’s victory at the poll was all but assured.
