Abandoned Baby Found Dead Behind UniCal Hostel

 A two-day old baby abandoned by an unknown mother was found dead behind the Medical Students Hostel, University of Calabar near the office of the Cross River State first lady, Mrs. Obioma Liyel-Imoke.
Mrs. Imoke in the last five years had been waging war against teenage pregnancy and child abandonment through her pets’ projects and had been able to put a stop to rampant baby abandonment in the state despite alleged campaign of calumny carried recently against her.
Speaking at the scene where the dead baby was abandoned, special assistant to the Governor on Public Health/ NGO and Special Projects, Dr. Regina Ejemot-Nwadiaro said her attention was drawn to the incident by an anonymous caller which prompted her presence at the scene.

Cancer Patient, Debbie Idiagbonya, Off To The US For Surgery


Do you remember Debbie (#saveDebbie), the young lady with breast cancer that needed N6million for surgery? . Well, help came through for her.
She traveled last night with her sister to the US for surgery. She already started treatment here and will continue chemo over there.

30-Year-Old Prophetess, Folashade Esther, Set Ablaze While Celebrating Trance

She was a paragon of beauty not long ago. She now wears a new but frightening look. But when 30 year-old Prophetess Folashade Esther Ogunseye of the Celestial Church Genesis Model Parish Agbado, Ogun state went into trance for seven days sometime in July this year, she warned her church members not to celebrate the feat for her.
But they would have none of that as they insisted on rolling out the drums. So on the fateful day, they prepared food and practically dragged her to the church where they danced round her to celebrate the spiritual feat.
In the midst of the celebration, one of the church workers called Elijah allegedly sprayed perfume known in celestial parlance as Ona La on the dancers without taking cognizance of lighted candles which some of them were holding.
Alas the perfume caught fire and Sade was set ablaze along with three other members who had joined in the celebration. A pastor in the church who had come to rescue them was also affected by the fire.

Lil’ Wayne On Doctor-Mandated Rest at Home After Death Scare


Rapper Lil Wayne is currently home on doctor-mandated rest because over the last few days, he has been suffering from severe migraine and dehydration.  
The 30-year-old rapper was hospitalized on October 25, 2012 after falling ill aboard his private jet. It was initially reported that he had suffered a stroke but the fears have been calmed.
Lil Weezy was treated in Texas where his plane made its emergency landing.
He is currently busy preparing for the December release of his new album, I Am Not a Human Being II.

Nigerian Man Found Dead in Arik Air's Undercarriage

The dead body of a young Nigerian man was discovered yesterday Friday October 26th in the wheel well, the undercarriage compartment of an Arik Air aircraft, after it returned from a flight to New York, United States.

Apparently, The deceased hid himself in the wheel Compartment for days and was crushed to death while the flight was airborne to the JF Kennedy Airport, New York, from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

An official who spoke to Journalist said the dead body was found during a check on the aircraft panel as it was being prepared for another

19 People Die as Muslims Celebrate Eid-el-Kabir


No fewer than 19 people were killed in two separate auto-crashes in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital during this year’s Sallah celebration. 

Three people were burnt to ashes Friday morning in the state capital while 16 others died in a separate multiple crash involving a trailer and a commuter bus at Osin River Community, a suburb of Ilorin at the beginning of the festivity on Wednesday.

Kwara State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Ola Ademoluti, confirmed the incident, saying that the three people were burnt to ashes on Sallah morning in Ilorin.

Nigerian Student Breaks World Record, Scores 4.0/4.0 in Turkish University

Tunji is the first African to have bagged such a status in the Department of Engineering, obtaining a degree in Engineering on a Grade Point Average of 4.00 out of 4.00 (straight A’s).

Sallah celebration Turns Bloody as PDP, NURTW Clash in Oyo


No fewer than 20 persons were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries in the ‘war’ that ensued between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) supporters and the National Union of Road Transport Workers’ (NURTW) celebration in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital yesterday.
The clash, we gathered erupted at the residence of Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola when PDP members on the entourage of the former Senate leader, Senator Teslim Folarin and former Deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Azeem Gbolarunmi, arrived Arisekola’s house and started chanting offensive songs against the incumbent governor of the state, Mr. Abiola Ajimobi where some members of the state council of NURTW led by the caretaker chairman, Taofeek Ayorinde were seated.

Suspected Boko Haram Militants Snatch Yobe State TV crew’s van

In Yobe state, gunmen suspected to be some Islamist sects snatched the Yobe state Television (YTV) crew van at gunpoint near Mamudu on the Damaturu-Potiskum road, while travelling for an official assignment at the Yobe Turkish College, Mamudo by 9.45am on Friday.
Confirming the incident, the general manager of YTV, Alhaji Gambo Ibbi said that the gunmen snatched the crew van this morning (Friday), while the reporters were travelling to the Turkish College for an official assignment.

Usher Buys A Puppy Dog For $12,000 at An Auction

At the Pencils of Promise 2012 Gala, Usher won an auction for a copper-colored goldendoodle puppy, after bidding a total of $12,000.
According to People, at last year’s gala Usher “tried to take home a puppy at auction, but was outbid by a family who eventually named the pooch Usher.”

This year, the singer’s initial bid of $10,000 was topped by another gala attendee, who placed an $11,000 bid. But Usher’s determination, likely due to last year’s loss, paid off! He won the puppy with his $12,000 offer.

“Usher looked thrilled, throwing his hands up in the air to celebrate. The dog seemed to get attached to her new owner quickly, whining when Usher left his table to make a speech. “

Nigerian Youths Are Lazy And Don't Read - El-Rufai

Amazingly, the controversial pint sized former minister of the FCT and now chieftain of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Mallam Nasir Elrufai, has accused Nigerian youths of being lazy and quick to judge.

Elrufai was apparently reacting to the youths who regularly accuse him of corruption and high handedness when he was in office. Elrufai is currently facing a corruption charge at an Abuja court bordering on the lands he seized from legitimate owners and reallocated to friends and his wives and Underaged son.
