Manchester City and Coted'ivoire player, Yaya Toure, 29, has been named as CAF’s African Footballer of the Year, for the second time in a row. He beats Drogba and Alex Song.
But my question is does Yaya toure deserves to beat Drogba for this award? Yaya won premiership while Drogba won Almighty Champions League. Please my people who deserve this award between them? Caf is annoying!!

Actress Nkiru Sylvanus And Kenneth Okolie Freed By Kidnappers
Report reaching us says actressNkiru Sylvanus and ex-Mr Nigeria Kenneth Okolie have been released by their kidnappers after five days.
The Nollywood actress and ex-Mr Nigeria, who were kidnapped on Monday in Owerri were freed Thursday evening.
The captors reportedly tied their eyes and dropped them off at an unknown location where they were able to call friends to come pick them up.
It is not known yet whether ransom was paid or not.
Nkiru Sylvanus is also the Special Assistant on public matters to Rochas Okorocha, governor of Imo State.
The state government few days ago announced a substantial reward to anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of the abducted actress.
Though details of the incident were still sketchy at press time, it was learnt that the abductors have established contact with her family and have demanded a ransom of N100 million.

OMG: Man Lives In A Tree For 9 Months After Wife Refuses To Apologise For Cheating On Him
An Indian man has spent NINE (9) MONTHS living in a TREE because his wife refuses to say sorry for cheating on him.
The man, known only as Sanjay, walked in on his partner and a next-door neighbour in their Mumbai home.
And when she refused to apologise he climbed a nearby guava tree and has been there ever since.
The 25-year-old has survived on a diet of fruit from the tree and food handed up by relatives.
“He eats and sleeps on the tree and even relieves himself from there,” his sister told The Asian Age newspaper.
Police have said they can’t intervene because he hasn’t committed an offence.
A spokesman for Cholapur police confirmed: “The man is on a tree top for the last nine months over some domestic dispute.”
Sanjay’s wife has since returned to live with her parents – and has still not said sorry.

Tears Flow As Late Governor Yakowa Is Finally Laid To Rest
The funeral service of the late Governor of Kaduna state, Ibrahim Patrick Yakowa, today held at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, Fadan-Kagoma.
The service witnessed a mammoth crowd including the deceased family members, federal and state government officials, hundreds of villagers and sympathizers.
Before the arrival of Yakowa’s remains, his wife, Amina, told the multitudes of mourners who thronged her husband’s family house that her husband worked for peace, unity and development of the state.
The mother of four who wept profusely as she spoke in Hausa, further stated that she believed that Yakowa died for the same course.
She said, in everything the deceased did while he held sway as Governor, the entire people of the state came first in his mind.
“God knows why this has happened to us at this time, so please let’s give thanks to God Almighty”.
As the corpse arrived in a motorcade, more tears freely rolled down the faces of those present including eminent personalities and top politicians. Most were seen sobbing irrepressibly as only a few managed to control their emotions .
Those who attended the requiem mass include: Senate President David Mark, Speaker, House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, and at least ten ministers and nine bishops led by former president of Christian Association of Nigeria, Cardinal John Onaiyekan.
Also in attendance were some state Governors: Rotimi Ameachi of Rivers, Idris Wada of Kogi, Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo and Babangida Aliyu of Niger.
Others are Peoples Democratic Party National Chairman Bamanga Tukur and former Head States, Abdusalami Abubakar among other dignitaries.
“Dress Indecently And Be Arrested” – UNIJOS VC Declares
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Hayward Mafuyai disclosed this on Wednesday at the matriculation of new students into the institution.
Prof. Mafuyai said, “UNIJOS encourages all students to dress to acceptable standards. Undue exposure of the body parts that has the potential to infuriate the sensibilities of others will be severely sanctioned.”
He added that indecently-dressed students would henceforth be prevented from attending lectures.
He however congratulated the newly admitted students, urging them to focus on their studies and shun all forms of violence.
Prof. Mafuyai concluded that the large number of students applying to be admitted into the institution annually was a vote of confidence on its academic excellence.

Tonto Dike Confirms Plan To Release Her Upcoming Album
Actress, Tonto Dike has disclosed she plans to release an album.
Tonto Dike made this known during a recent interview with Rhythm FM OAP, Biggy.
The controversy-loving actress says she set out to have fun with music but has since decided to make an album which will be due for release soon.
In her usual manner, Tonto did not seem bothered about acceptability, ‘I really wanna take music far because I know y’all are going to listen’, she says.
Tonto Dike released her first two singles in October, 2012 and another one, Crazically Fit with producer, Terry G, few weeks back.

Nigerian Police Arrest 15 Undergraduates For Robbery

Police in Ekiti State have arrested 15 polytechnic students for armed robbery.
The students were said to have carried out some operations on December 14 using a white bus with number plate SUG 002 Thunder Attack.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Victor Babayemi, the suspects said to be students of a polytechnic in Kwara State, invaded two filling stations in Otun-Ekiti in Moba Local Government Area and dispossessed the attendants of the sales proceeds for that day.
The suspects, it added, destroyed fuel dispensers at the filling stations.
Babayemi said a pistol and a single barrel gun were recovered from the gang.
The PPRO explained that following a tip off, policemen arrested the suspects at Omuo-Ekiti, a border town between Ekiti, and Kogi states.
The statement read in part, “The police were alerted to the operations of a 15-man robbery gang that invaded two filling stations at Otun-Ekiti, with a white unregistered bus, but marked ‘SUG 002 Thunder Attack’ The gang, which was found to be made up of students of a polytechnic in Kwara State, beat up the attendants of the filling stations, destroyed their dispensing pumps and dispossessed them of their sales proceeds while brandising dangerous weapons.
“On receiving the information, police patrol teams were dispatched to seal off the exit routes in the state. And, before long, the gang was intercepted at Omuo-Ekiti, the boundary town between Ekiti and Kogi states and the occupants were arrested.”
The suspects are Mustapha AbdulQuadri, (24); Yusuf Rahman (27); Suleiman Abdul Rasak (30); Akorede Adewole (25); Ayandara Phillip (21); Lukman Amunulahi (24); Ajiboye Olamilekan (21); Abdulganiyu Suleiman, (22); and Alabi Oluwatoyosi, (24).
Others are Adebayo Michael (32); Alabi Olumide (25); Fatai Kabir (27); Ajibare Moshood (20); Aliyu Usman (27); and Olanipekun Abimbola (24).
Babayemi said the police recovered identity cards of some of them, adding that they confessed that they were students of a polytechnic.
He added, “We recovered the identity cards which showed that they are students of the school. We have written to the school about our findings and we are expecting their response.”

Nkiru Sylvanus Kidnap: Police Arrest 16 Suspects
Imo State Police Command yesterday said it has arrested 16 suspects in connection with the kidnapping of Nollywood actress and Special Assistant to the State Governor on Public Affairs, Nkiru Sylvanus.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Vitalis Onugu (DSP), disclosed that the suspects were arrested in a raid of suspected kidnappers’ dens in the forest, adding that they were already assisting the police in its investigation.
Meanwhile, the state government has directed security agencies to arrest any unauthorised person found using siren and vehicles with tinted glasses. Rising from a security council meeting, the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, said the renewed war against unauthorised use of siren and tinted glasses was part of the stringent measures adopted by the council to checkmate crime in the state, especially during the Yuletide.
Also, members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Southeast Zone, demanded the immediate release of the actress. Members of the actors’ body, led by its National Vice President, Southeast, Ikechukwu Ezenagu, a legal practitioner, barricaded the entrance of Government House displaying placards with various inscriptions which include, “Southeast governors give Nollywood actors security,” “Insecurity is the bane of investment in the Southeast,” “Turn away from kidnapping and join Nollywood,” among others.
I Have Joy When I’m Around Children-Empress Njama
House of Empress owner, Nollywood actress, Empress Njama has revealed her reasons for specially caring for children.
Empress Njama made this know a couple of days ago when she celebrated her birthday at Karu Children’s Home.
“When growing, my mum said that when I was younger I was always carrying children of my age, I always try to lift them. So I think that is where I got the love from. And I’m this kind of person that has joy when I have children around me or when I’m around children.
It is something that has been within ever since. It’s not like I’m just starting doing this, I have been doing it over the years. I feel very relaxed blessed and free with children.”
Empress Njama also said further, “It has always been my tradition and I will keep doing it. They are the best people you can celebrate your birthday with. They bring so much joy to you and they are all innocent children and clean-hearted people who would genuinely share your cake and have fun with you. It always has to be the children.”
One of the things the beautiful actress does for children include giving scholarship and attending to their daily needs on a regular basis.
Empress Njama emphasized that every year, she chooses five friends who help in the yearly sponsorship of these children.
“Every year, I pick up five friends and I call them volunteers. These friends will take care of a child each for a year. I picked five in Lagos and I was able to get three in Abuja. But it is for a year. If they want to go further, fine but I pick them for a year. That is just what we do to assist the child.
It is just like you assisting the child, most of us enjoy doing it. Most of my friends during our spare time come see the children,” Empress Njama concluded.

EFCC Declares Ex-Kogi Governor, Abubakar Audu, Wanted Over N4bn Scam
The EFCC believes Mr. Audu corruptly enriched himself with about N4 billion of state funds.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has declared former governor of Kogi State, Abubakar Audu, wanted for offences bordering on conspiracy, stealing and misappropriation of public fund.
The action followed the failure of the Mr. Audu to respond to invitations by the anti- graft agency.
An attempt by the EFCC to arrest at the former governor at his 32, Sulaiman Barau Street, Asokoro, Abuja residence on December 11, 2012 failed as he allegedly evaded arrest.
The former governor is alleged to have fraudulently enriched himself with over N4 billion of Kogi funds while he held sway as governor between 1999 and 2003.
The move to arrest the ex- governor followed a Supreme Court ruling of November 23, 2012, which dismissed an appeal by the ex-governor that questioned the EFCC’s prosecution of his activities.
The Commission in a statement by its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, implored anyone having useful information about the whereabouts of the suspect to notify its offices in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Lagos, Kano and Enugu; or report at the nearest police station.
National Assembly: House Of Representatives Pass 2013 Budget Of N4.987trn
The House of Representatives on Thursday passed the 2013 budget of N4.987 trillion as against the N4.924 trillion presented by President Goodluck Jonathan.
This represents a difference of N63 billion.
The budget comprises of N387.9 billion for statutory transfers, and N591.7 billion for debt services.
The budget is also made up of N2.3 trillion as recurrent non-debt expenditure and N1.6 trillion for contribution to the development fund for capital expenditure for the year ending December 31, 2013.
All unutilised capital expenditure in the 2012 budget has been rolled over to form part of the 2013 Appropriation Act.
The Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha, who presided enjoined all standing committees of the House to carry out their oversight functions in order to ensure full implementation of capital projects.
The spending plans assumed a $79 a barrel benchmark oil price as against the $75 submitted to the National Assembly by the president.
The House will now wait for the passage of the appropriating bill by the Senate, followed by harmonization by both chambers, before the bill is sent to the president for signing into law.

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, has hinted that his list of foreign-based pros will be made public on Christmas day.

BREAKING NEWS: Fire outbreak at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos (+PHOTOS)
Today's morning, an electrical fire was reported at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
The fire emanated from some cables, which apparently melted under heat.
This led to a blackout in the airport terminal while fire fighters deployed swiftly in the affected area to quench the fire.
Security men erected a metal barricade around the site and the fire fighters were able to put the situation under control.
On Wednesday night however, in a separate incident, a cargo plane blew off the roof of a parking lot at the airport, causing damage to some
In that incidence, two people sustained injuries while 12 exotic cars were severely damaged when hot air from a wide-body cargo aircraft blew off the roof of a building at the E-wing of the terminal.
At about 7.39p.m, the entire terminal was thrown into confusion while this happened.
According to a staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) who was on duty at the terminal, there was a bang at the diplomatic car park at the time the roof fell on the cars, thus forcing some drivers to flee.
Two people sustained minor injuries, while the debris of shattered windscreens littered the floor.
“We heard a loud bang and everyone initially fled. Later, some security personnel stormed the place. Thank God no life was lost. It is shocking. This sort of thing has never happened before,” he said.
On confirming the incident, the Spokesman of FAAN, Yakubu Dati said “there is no such thing that an airplane ran into cars…I’m still trying to get the real details but I think it has to do with the wind from the aircraft that blew off the roof which later hit some cars”.

Two Killed, Five Injured As Robbers Attack Bank In Osun

The robbery attack lasted half an hour at the Ikirun branch of a new generation bank, and left the area in panic as security agents attached to the bank and residents took to their heels on sighting the armed robbers.
According to an eye witness, the robbers, whose number could not be ascertained arrived at the bank on new Inisha road at about 4.00.p.m. and carted away an unspecified amount of money.
The hoodlums were said to have shot sporadically into the air in order to scare away people at the vicinity.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident but said the command would release details as soon as the report was available. [NAN]

Former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon on Wednesday recounted how he would have been on the helicopter that crashed killing Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa, ex-National Security Adviser Andrew Azazi and four others in Bayelsa State on Saturday.
Speaking in Kafanchan, at the special thanksgiving service to mark the 50th birthday anniversary of Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, the founder of Throneroom Ministry, Gen. Gowon said that the chopper was being arranged for them to fly to Port Harcourt when another one was provided for him and five others.
According to him: “We were with the aide of the President to pay our condolences and they started arranging for a Navy helicopter to take us to Yenogoa (with Yakowa). But, another helicopter was arranged for me and five others. And that was it.
OGUN POLITICS: Obasanjo, Daniel’s Supporters Clash at PDP Secretariat
The five-year unresolved crisis of the troubled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, took a new twist yesterday, as two factions loyal to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and the state former Governor Gbenga Daniel, engaged themselves in a public brawl.
The Premium Times reported that members of both factions used charms and other weapons in a free-for-all fight at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Both factions fought over which group will control the party secretariat located along Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta.
As a result of the violence, it was gathered that the Police and the State Security Service (SSS) have taken over the secretariat.
It was gathered that the faction loyal to Obasanjo had some few months backed sack of the Daniel-led faction from theof secretariat, thereby taking full control of the building.
However, the Daniel’s faction allegedly financed by a multi-millionaire, Buruji Kashamu, was said to have stormed the party’s secretariat armed with a court judgment pronouncing the faction’s executive as the authentic PDP leaders.
The court judgment was said to have been secured even before they were made to leave the secretariat earlier.
Reports said the leaders of the Daniel faction had sought a meeting with the leaders of the other group at the party’s secretariat to present the latter with the court order. Before the meeting could hold, violence erupted between supporters of both factions
The violence escalated as supporters used charms and other dangerous weapons freely on one another.
A witness said some people fainted and became unconscious after being hit with charms.
The development, however, paralysed activities around the area until the arrival of security operatives, who eventually arrested five people.
The state Police Commissioner, Ikemefuna Okoye, was said to have hurriedly abandoned a press conference at the Eleweran Police headquarters to take charge of development at the troubled area.
He said his men were at the party secretariat to maintain peace and order, adding that he came around as soon as he heard there was “little problem in the PDP secretariat.”
The police commissioner, however, assured residents not to be disturbed and to continue with their normal activities; promising that the command has dispatched enough men to the area.

Her charm has turned my father’s love away from us, as he can no longer recognize us as his children, but that has not killed my dream. Each time I call my dad on the phone, to introduce myself; he would act so strange, with all hatred. He denies us every time. But I’m happy. I’m happy because I’m doing something that makes me happy.”
Precious is one of the most popular models in Abuja who has not failed to be part of great modeling event. She currently owns and manages a modeling company and will be contesting in the next edition of Miss Abuja, and Miss Middle Belt.

A 20-year-old Boston University sophomore and a self-described 'cellist-nerd' brought the Miss Universe crown back to the United States for the first time in more than a decade when she won the televised contest on Wednesday.
Olivia Culpo beat out 88 other beauty queens to take the title from Leila Lopes of Angola during the two-hour competition at the Planet Hollywood casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Culpo wore a tight navy blue mini-dress with a sequined bodice as she walked on stage for the competition's opening number.
Miss Philippines, Janine Tugonon, came in second, while Miss Venezuela, Irene Sofia Esser Quintero, placed third.
All the contestants spent the past two weeks in Sin City, where they posed in hardhats at a hotel groundbreaking, took a painting lesson, and pranked hotel guests by hiding in their rooms.
Culpo was the first Miss USA winner from Rhode Island when she took the national crown in Las Vegas in June.
