World's Tallest Teen Finds Love

It is difficult to believe that Elisany da Cruz Silva, is just 17, and she holds the record of the world’s tallest teen girl at 6ft 8in

But if you think that will make the boys feel intimidated by her height you got it wrong because Elisany is in a relationship with Francinaldo da Silva Carvalho, 22, who stands at 5ft 4in.

And such love comes with a high price – he has to practically stand on his toes and crane his neck to get a kiss.
The construction worker said: “My friends say things like, ‘How do you hug her?’. I say, ‘There’s a way of doing everything’.”
Elisany, an aspiring model from Salinopolis, Brazil, is just an inch taller than Stoke City’s Peter Crouch — she has a form of gigantism due to a tumour on her pituitary gland.
She grew faster than her seven siblings from the age of 11 and hit 6ft 9in when she was 14. But her sudden growth caused pain in her limbs and joints.

Surgeons removed the gland two years ago and she shrank by an inch — but she could still not fit on the school bus and had to quit school due to teasing.
But she’s happy now with Francinaldo. She said: “What really attracted me was his personality, the way he acts with people and the way he acts with me.
“The only thing that really affects us is when we hang out holding hands — it seems like he is my little brother or son.” - Sun News.

What kind of childhood did you have?

Well, from my father’s side, we are Fulanis. You know the Fulanis are really divided into two. There are nomads, the ones that if you drive from Maiduguri and many parts of the North you will find. They are even in parts of Delta now. And there are those who settled. They are cousins and the same people actually. From my mother’s side and on her father’s side, we are Kanuris from Kukawa.

Where’s Kukawa?

Kukawa is in Borno State. We are Kanuris. On her mother’s side, we are Hausas. So, you can see I am Hausa, Fulani, Kanuri combined (he laughs). I am the 23rd child of my father.

Jesus Appeared To Me When I Was 3 Years Old- Pastor Chris Okotie

Household of God Church and presidential candidate of the recently deregistered Fresh Democratic Party (FDP), Rev. Chris Okotie, invited SENIOR CORRESPONDENT, Hazeez Balogun, to his Lagos home for an interview recently and spoke on issues including politics, music, church and marriage.
How would you react to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s recent deregistration your party, FRESH?
First, we believe that this is a conspiracy between the ruling party and the INEC. It is unconstitutional and repugnant to the spirit of the constitution and it is an attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to erase the voice of the opposition. It is also a ploy for the ruling party to perpetuate itself in power for as long as it can. We believe that the right thing to do is to go to court and expect the judiciary as the last bastion of our political and democratic experiment to remedy the situation and erase the aberration from our political landscape.
Will you join another party if at the end the party stands deregistered?
It is too early to say anything on that. What INEC has done is a frustration of the whole democratic process. If it is not arrested it is the beginning of what I call a medieval autocracy. This is how Hitler began. We need to, by any means possible, stop this move by INEC. I am very confident that what INEC has done will be reversed by the judiciary. That is why I said it is too early to talk about that now.
Before last year’s elections you asked Nigerians to vote President Goodluck Jonathan out of power, do you have a different view of him now?
With all due respect, I speak within the context of conventional propriety. He, as a Nigerian, has been given a great opportunity even though many of us say it is a great mistake and I still believe that.

Osaze Angry WIth Keshi For Not Including His Name On The List

                                  Osaze Odemwingie

Keshi’s decision to drop West Brom star striker Osaze Odemwingie from Super Eagles squad is obviously not going down well with him as he (Odemwingie) on Sunday took to his twitter handle to vent his anger.
According to MTNFootball, Keshi defended his decision to drop Odemwingie and Taye Taiwo by citing the players’ attitude with particular reference to the Nations Cup qualifier in February in Rwanda.
However, below are what he (Odemwingie) tweeted:
‘On my not inclusion to the eagles list i am not surprised. Not surprised Keshi and NFF couldn’t tell me themselves. No personality!
We talk through press hahaha how come I am the only stubborn one but no ex eagles player was sent off from the team with respect ?
Keshi has no footballing reasons not to invite me but is not saying the truth. He s still in my plans he said haha coach u no dey my plans.
To some who wanna put mouth here please act like men. When two men talk 3rd has nothing to do. So ikpeba s and the rest talk to me face2face
This is all a comedy and our poor fans are being fed with lies while they cutting the cake for them selves.
Nff spokesman told MTN he is arrogant ? I am arrogant ? Why did countries president threaten to close down our federation for two years ?
Why didn’t Lagerback continue with supereagles after world cup ? Chop and run was his plan and they knew it.
Nigerian fans voted me Nigerian player of the year during world cup qualifiers & I was a spectator in the world cup and I should be quiet?
Cos after we got olympic silver I didn’t say Siasia is ready for eagles he waited till he gets the job to axe me ?
Me and Apam begged him to take Kaita in the olympic team.He told us he wants to play Efe Ambrose there who is a centre back ? Good plan
The only reason me and Siasia fell out was over kits that were not enough cos they were on sale as the olympics were on going. Shame !
A joke from the american team to us – damn brothers ! U ve been wearing this same cloths all the time men !!! ( Will give details later )
Ok that childish thing about shirt aside. WBA needed me back 4 important game and Siasia refused to let me miss a midweek friendly game ?
Were is common sense there ? The game was played in a 80000 capacity stadium with 2000 spectators. That’s how important the game was !
They can’t spoil my name !!!
That’s when I ask my self – do we not have a team captain and federation who can tell its common sense ? And settle the matter ? Na wow oh
Then they don’t invite Enyama our number one for a crucial qualifying game cos he complained about a flight or something little? Ridiculous
Then SWAN sends a letter to NFF to warn me. (Sorry about that tweet didn’t mean it that way). But tell ur colleagues not to make up stories
The story is getting long and I don tire. I cared a lot about the team and wasn’t passive.
This might sound disrespectful but eagles had no good captain for many years. Everyone looking only after himself.
The only reason I write this is for the fans to know my reasons and position on few things and don’t think I don’t care or too proud.
After Afcon in Ghana eagles fans were satisfied with our performance and Siasia after the tournament said I will take u to the olympics
They sacked Berti Vogts after it though and just a month after that Coach Amodu took over! In his first game in charge I didn’t even warm up
I had to holla at him and Amokachi his assistant and next games I played and man of the match in half games of the team that year
Whatin I do them self ? Hahahaha
Nff member just called me. Ofcos got insulted. I told him I sang national anthem for ten years to be treated like this.
That’s it on this. Story ended. No more talks about national team again. I ve said all I wanted. If will be tempted will go off twitter.
A wise man advised me after 1st tweet that there r other ways to make someone look stupid. I am not interested in that. Just cleared maself’

Jungle Justice: Man Set Ablaze By Crowd For Stealing Okada

What looked like the Aluu four incident occurred on Friday, as a middle-aged man was set ablaze by irate youth at workers’ village, along Kilema Doma road in Lafia, Nasarawa State, while reportedly trying to snatch a motorcycle from a motorcyclist.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer (DPPRO), Nasarawa State command, Mr Cornelius Ocholi who confirmed the incident disclosed that seven persons had since been apprehended in connection with the wicked act.
Ocholi confirmed that the policemen attached to the state police launched a manhunt on them when the news broke out that a man alleged to be a motorcycle thief was being lynched, noting that before the officers could get to the scene, the angry mobs had killed the man and flee.
“Effort made by the police to get the names of the accomplice proved abortive as nobody could be found at the scene of the event, where the suspected thief was set ablaze,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Police Commissioner, Mr Abayomi Akaremale, has cautioned members of the public against jungle justice.
The police boss added that what the mob did was against the law, noting that it was wrong for them to take law into their hands for not informing the police earlier.
However, an eye witness claimed that the suspected thief died while receiving medical attention at Araf Dalhatu Specialist Hospital, Lafia.

Wife Sets House Ablaze In Order Kill Her Husband and 3 Children

                               INJURED: Modise
A Mochudi man is fighting for his life at Deborah Retief Memorial hospital after his abusive wife set the house they were sleeping in ablaze last weekend.
As the international community observed the ‘16 Days of Activism on violence against women and children’, Shianyana Modise’s estranged wife went on rampage and attempted to burn her husband and three children including a two-month old baby, inside the house.
When describing details of the horrific incident, 39-year old Shianyana Modise told of how his habitually abusive wife, Violet, had phoned informing him that she suspected that the food in the house had been poisoned.
“I had gone to the cattle post on Friday when I received the call.
She told me that she had not cooked any food as she suspected that the food had been poisoned.
When I got back home she had put all food-stuffs into a large bowl and mixed with water.
When I asked why she did that she started throwing her usual tantrums, insulting me and throwing stuff all over the place.
She broke the furniture and other household property and I went to the police station and reported the incident.
The police told us that this time the dispute was getting out of hand and they told us that the matter would be taken to court on Monday.”
Modise said he was awoken by a cloud of smoke engulfing his bedroom at 3am on Saturday and that when he opened the bedroom door the living room was on fire and he suffered burns as he tried to escape.
“When I tried to open the door to get out of the house I found that it had been locked.
I then went through the inferno and tried to rescue Violet and the kids but their room was also locked.
I managed to break the burglar bars to my room and escaped through the window.
It was only then that I managed to break the other window and rescue the kids. I was screaming for help at the same time and my brother and other neighbours came and doused the flames and we managed to get Violet out of the house.”
Superintendent Simon Sitale of Mochudi Police confirmed the incident but said Violet was undergoing psychiatric examination before any charge could be considered against her.
“After the incident the affected family members who included children aged 11 years, 8 years and two months were taken to the hospital.
The husband was badly burnt and he was admitted in hospital while the rest were treated for shock and were released.
The woman has been admitted at Sbrana Psychiatric hospital in Lobatse for mental examination.
Should the results prove that she is sane she will face a charge of attempted murder but if not she’ll walk free,” he said.
According to family members, Violet has always been hostile to her husband’s relatives and after the marriage to Modise in 2007 she stopped all the relatives from visiting.
“We share a fence but ever since she got married to my younger brother she does not allow us into her yard but her relatives are allowed to visit any time,” Modise’s brother Marutle said.
Superintendent Sitale said the incident was the first of its kind in Mochudi and advised couples to settle disputes through family mechanisms and social services.

Egypt Vice-President Resigns as Country Votes

                                 Mahmoud Mekki

Egypt‘s vice-president has announced his resignation, on the day the country completes its voting in a controversial referendum on a draft constitution.
In the nation’s latest political upheaval, Mahmoud Mekki, appointed in August, said he had realised the role did not suit his background as a judge.
Egyptians are voting in the second leg of the referendum, which is widely expected to approve the draft.
However, opponents say this will not end the country’s unrest.
President Mohammed Morsi and his supporters say the constitution will secure democracy.
The opponents say the document favours Islamists and betrays the revolution that overthrew Hosni Mubarak last year.
Late on Saturday, state television announced that the central bank governor, Farouq al-Uqdah, had also resigned from his post. However, a cabinet official later denied the report.
November decree
Mr Mekki announced his resignation just hours before the end of voting in the second round of the referendum.
He said in a statement read on television: “I realised a while ago that the nature of politics does not suit my professional background as a judge.”
Mr Mekki, 58, said he had tried to resign on 7 November but that circumstances had forced him to remain.
The Israeli conflict in Gaza and President Morsi’s controversial decree on 22 November granting himself sweeping new powers delayed his decision.
Mr Mekki’s resignation statement indicated he had no prior knowledge of the decree, which stripped the judiciary of powers to question the president’s decisions.
The BBC’s Shaimaa Khalil in Cairo says Mr Mekki appeared to be giving the impression that he was unhappy with not being consulted on key decisions.
If, as expected, the draft constitution is passed, there may have been no role for Mr Mekki, as the document does not require the president to appoint a vice-president.
Seven of Mr Morsi’s leading advisers have quit over the past month, many indicating they had not been consulted over the president’s moves.
After an outcry, the president revoked much of the 22 November decree, but he refused to back down on the draft document.
The text was rushed through by a constituent assembly dominated by Islamists and boycotted by liberal and left-wing members, as it faced a threat of dissolution by the country’s top court.
Egypt has seen mass demonstrations on both sides ever since.
However, voting in the second stage of the referendum appears to have gone relatively smoothly so far.
Some 250,000 security personnel have been deployed nationwide to try to keep order.
Polling stations opened at 08:00 local time (06:00 GMT) on Saturday. They had been scheduled to close at 19:00 but will now remain open until 23:00. Voting was also extended in the first leg.
Ballots are being cast in the 17 provinces that did not vote in the first round on 15 December.
Turnout was reported to be just above 30% in the first round, with unofficial counts suggesting some 56% of those who cast ballots voted in favour of the draft.
Official results are not expected until Monday, after appeals are heard. If the constitution passes, parliamentary elections must take place within three months.
Analysts suggest the document will be passed.
Egyptians casting votes in favour of the charter said they were voting for stability.
In the town of Fayoum, “yes” voter Hanaa Zaki told the Associated Press news agency: “I have a son who hasn’t got paid for the past six months. We have been in this crisis for so long and we are fed up.”
Opponents of the draft say it fails to protect the freedoms and human rights that they sought in the uprising that toppled Mr Mubarak. Some have also complained about the role given to Islamic clerics and what they say is a lack of a clear commitment to equality between men and women.
“I’m voting ‘no’ because Egypt can’t be ruled by one faction,” Karim Nahas, a 35-year-old stock market broker voting early on Saturday in Giza, told Reuters news agency.
Opposition activists say there will be more unrest whatever the outcome.
One voter in Ikhsas village, Marianna Abdel-Messieh, agreed. “Whether this constitution passes or not, there will be trouble,” she told AP. “God have mercy on us.”

End of their rumours that they were at logger heads.

Half-Naked, Aged Women Protest in Ogun state

Half-naked women took to the streets last Saturday at Sonde Apon, a rural community in Ifo Local Government Area, Ogun State, to show their displeasure over an unfortunate invasion of their community by hoodlums.
According to reports, the Sonde Apon community was besieged and attacked by 20 hoodlums suspected to have been sent by land speculators from a nearby community.
The aggrieved women, who sang sorrowful songs to express their anger over the attack, described ‘the invasion’ as one of the worst things that had happened to them, adding that it was the third time they would be experiencing such in three years.
It was gathered that during the last invasion, the hoodlums attacked with machetes, and guns at about 11.30 am when many of the residents had already gone to work. They shot sporadically, broke into houses and carted away with property and valuables.
One of the protesting women, Chief (Mrs.) Mopelola Losede, Iyalaje of Sonde Apon said “The other time, they attacked us and we petitioned the Inspector General of Police for actions to be taken against them and nothing was done. Now they are at it again. How long should we continue to live in fear because of people, who are fighting to take our land by force? In fact, our lives are not safe. Governor Ibikunle Amosun and the police should come to save us, before the worst will happen.”
In one of their futile attempts to get justice done, some members of the Sonde Apon community were arrested and locked up for days.

Chelsea Midfielder, Raul Meireles Slammed 11-Match Ban For Spitting At Referee In Instabul Derby

Former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles has been slammed an 11-match ban for reportedly spitting at a referee.
The Portuguese international who plies his trade with Fenerbache in Turkey was accused of the allegation following his dismissal in the country’s most ferocious derby against Galatasaray last weekend.
Meireles had confronted referee Halis Ozkahya after he was given a second yellow card and it was claimed then that he spat at the official while also making a homophobic remark.
Speaking after the match, the 29-year-old vehemently denied the claims and vowed to seek redress.
He said: ‘I’m really annoyed at being accused of spitting at the referee. I have an eight year old kid, can you imagine if kids at school start saying your father spat at a ref, this could ruin my reputation in the eyes of my child.
‘I have many gay friends who I deeply respects. The hand gesture I made is directed at the referee caving in to the pressure of the home fans.’
He claimed he is not a prejudiced person and that his hand gesture was by no means a homophobic one.
‘I don’t know what the hand gesture for calling somebody gay is in Turkey but what I did was entirely based around the referee being a coward and bowing to the pressure. The referee’s accusations are outrageous and are defamation, I will be taking legal action against him to prove my innocence’ he retorted.
If the ban sticks, he will be ruled out of action out until the last week of February.
