The Adamawa Government has announced the merger of its Ministry of Social Development and Integration with the Ministry of Women Affairs.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government(SSG), Mr Kobis Thimnu, on Monday in Yola.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Halima Mohammed, will take charge of the new ministry as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development.
The statement explained that, with the merger, the Commissioner for the defunct Ministry of Social Development and Integration, Mr Felix Tangwami, ceased to be a commissioner.
NAN reports that, with the merger, the state now has 25 ministries as against 26 before the exercise.
