“I Would Have Been Sacked If I Was 18 Points Behind Real Madrid” – Vilanova Taunts Mourinho
Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova, has heaped more pressure on Jose Mourinho, after stating that he would have lost his job if his team was 18 points behind Real Madrid in La Liga.
Mourinho is going through a difficult time in the capital, after a couple of poor results in the League and his decision to drop captain and club legend, Iker Casillas. Although he feels the title race is far from over, Vilanova has said he would have been out of job, if he was in Mourinho’s shoes.
“No, but if the situation was the other way round, I woudn’t be here to answer that question,” Vilanova told reporters, ahead of Wednesday’s cup game against Malaga.
“Madrid are capable of winning every game in the second half of the season and we are capable of losing those points.
“We are not talking about four games, there are a lot of games left. I know that things can change very quickly. As soon as you lose two games, you look worse as a coach.”
